I've eaten here around 4 times and I've enjoyed the food. I love the udon noodles and everything seems fresh. One thing I asked the old Asian man who works at the cash register for extra vegetables, the look he gives me is almost one of disgust and anger and definitely annoyance. If I wanted extra veggies or even chicken (though I've never asked for extra chicken), I would be happy to pay for that! I've read reviews of others stating that the same guy is rude. He is. I would still come here (maybe), but, old dude if you are reading this, you need to smile more and be FRIENDLY to your customers. Be accommodating. The customers are the ones who pay your bills! I haven’t been to Rolling Rice in a while (The last time we went was just before the pandemic), but the prices have gone up and the menu has gotten more confusing. I thought I was ordering a plate of tempura roll sushi with teriyaki, rice and a salad. Instead I received tempura shrimp sticks... Also on the menu was a side order of tempura shrimp which I also anticipated would be a sushi roll. This also turned out to be shrimp sticks. However tonight my second time here, I went in and before I placed my order I was told the wait time was 1.5 hours. I still placed my order and the woman gave me specifics times to be back in. Between an hour and hour and 15 mins. When I get back at the 1hr mark, the first thing the cook behind the counter says that “my food has been ready for a long time” and he wasn’t lying because my baked and fried roll I got 3 days prior was cold this time around.
