First of all, you don't always get what you pay for. On rare occasions you get more! Honestly the price was fantastic.
You get a proper serving* of pasta, it seems authentic, the taste is great, ingredients look great... If I could change one thing, the olive oil for salad is milder than I like but that stuff is expensive. *other places may give much more, but it's also much more expensive, and quality is much less. I added on chicken sausage to mine and it didn't break the bank. I added chicken meatballs to the other and it was still reasonably priced.
Frankly, they give great quality for the price. I know several places to go where I would spend more, and get less quality and less authenticity. But I'm not going there anymore.
The dining room is not "fine dining" (but neither is the price!!). Compared to some "higher end" restaurants- I am OK w/ Due' Cucina's dining area b/c I prefer their quality. Not to shay there's is bad- it's definitely not. It's perfectly adequate.
The staff is prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. The chefs are accessible, and they clearly take pride in their work and work hard to produce great food.
Seating, tables, walls, all clean (also new), and bathroom looks great. I'm hoping the lightrail brings them many customers. might want to put on a costume and handout flyers when it opens....
Anyhow, basically dropping all but one Italian restaurant for Due's Cucina. Only b/c my kids grew up on the other place so it's sort of a gold standard for them lol. S Due's, you'll...
Read moreNot the typical restaurant experience. You order at the counter, selecting a sauce a type of pasta and meat. You can use the pad or a employee at the counter can take your order. I forgot to order something to drink, a friend was still ordering so she added a soda on hers. Dont forget to look at appetizers and desserts. They do have glasses and a water tap at the counter. After placing your order it's find a table and wait for your name to be called. Even as it got busy it wasn't loud so it was nice for our group of six as we were able to visit and hear the conversation. The noodles are cooked al dente which I like not sure if you can ask for them to be cooked longer. I had the short rib rags which was good plenty of meat ,I did add the spicy calebrean chilli and had burata on the side. My husband had the Polpette with sausage, and foccacia which he liked. I think the favorite at the table was the Cacio & Pepe, which is what I would have if we make it up that way again. I would definitely recommend the Suppli al Telefono appetizer. I tasted the tiramisu and would recommend if you have room. You bus your own...
Read moreGreat news for Redmond! Due has arrived where the pasta is made fresh in-house and it is always al dente!
Due is one of my favorite pasta joints in the area and the new Redmond location is just as good and consistent as their other locations. Fresh, perfectly cooked pasta with excellent choices of sauces and great sides. Pick your pasta, pick your sauce and enjoy!
We had quite a few dishes and each came out quickly and tasted great. Impressive for a first night of soft open with a full house. Sauces sampled included short rib ragu (made dairy free), bolognese, pomodoro, and mushroom with white truffle oil. Pastas sampled were bucatini, campanelle, and paccheri. We had a salad with eggplant, side of burrata and wings alla cacciatore.
Additional menu items are on the way per their staff.
This location has the benefit of a free parking garage for customers in addition to street parking. It's also two blocks from the light rail stop.
With five locations in the area, the owners and staff have it down. Fantastic food in a casual environment at great value! If you haven't tried Due, give them a try - highly...
