Pretty dishonest server and communication. Their website and Facebook advertise happy hour menu and pricing all day Sundays. We drove 40 min to enjoy their happy menu oyster and get a few dozen oysters. We sat inside (I suppose this was the issue). The server came and I asked for a dozen of happy hour oysters. He responded “happy hour is over”. Whatever, that wasn’t going to stop me. Then I asked for the sliders that were on the Happy Hour menu - just because I have a small appetite. “That’s not on the menu but I’ll make it work, not at Happy Hour price.” He responded. Something was fishy to us - so we made sure to double check their website and social medias. Sure enough, all said ALL day happy hour Sunday. We flagged him down again and confronted him about it. He responded “That’s only for the bar and patio.”… now THAT is the red flag. When you see I am so adamant about Happy Hour, why couldn’t you just communicate in the first place when I asked twice about Happy Hour menu, that it’s only for the bar and patio? That left a very sour taste in my mouth that he was only there to collect my tip. Otherwise, I would have HAPPILY sat at the bar or patio. On top of all this, he forgot to put in my order of oysters. The burgers we had as well? Dry and overcooked. My sliders were so dry, and the buns were toasted too much so it was potato crisp texture. If the message about happy hour was only at the bar and outside was more clear on the website, or if the waiter was transparent, it wouldn’t have been so awful of an experience. But really the food was terrible too - $45 for 2 sliders, a burger, and fries? Wow. We ended up going to another restaurant for Oysters after and had a much...

Read moreWe went to Matt's for Mother's Day brunch. We won't go back for this brunch. It was a buffet style set up. We had an early reservation at 9:00 am because that was the only time we could get. We were expecting it to be packed. It wasn't. There were only 10 tables filled. The menu items were ok. There was a charcuterie table and a few pastries. The main buffet items which were all served included bacon, two types of scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, prime rib, french toast, and eggs benedict. There were also shrimp, oysters on the half shell and desserts. It was a decent spread. Everything tasted good. The scrambled eggs with sausage were my favorite. Now service was an issue. We couldn't get a cup of coffee to save our lives. I ordered a Bailey's shot for my coffee. They were out. We were sitting close to the coffee area and the servers were sitting around and talking and laughing. We were there for an hour and the place still only had around 10 tables filled at any one time. The cost of the brunch was $55 per person. For that price, I guess I expected more but it was ok. It did not include any drinks, not even a glass of mimosa for mom. In all, including 3 coffees and an automatic grutuity and taxes, it was $231.08. $165 for 3 buffet, $9.75 for 3 coffees, $21.38 for taxes, and $34.95 for automatic gratuity. For the service we received, $34.95 was excessive for...
