Also moonlights as "Pasta Italy" on Uber Eats, so my review is focused more on that. Perhaps the pizza is good, but the italian food is extremely lackluster, and honestly seems like a fundamental misunderstanding of some of the basics of Italian cooking... particularly anything tomato based. There's so little flavor i actually took a covid test just to make sure I wasnt sick or something - came back negative.
The food arrived fast, so that's notable and a star is earned for that and that alone. I have little faith in the desire of this place to change these menu items since its a ghost kitchen, but in case it does or, like me, you saw the nice looking stock photos while in a rush on uber eats and ended up with , I'll instead fill this space with suggestions
Anything with red sauce (eg. spaghetti bolognese, eggplant parmasean) is going to be seriously lackluster.
Seems like marinara sauce was used in place of spaghetti sauce. or something extremely budget. Whatever happened, you effectively have tomato pasta with limited to no herbs. You'll want to add a dash of extra virgin olive oil and season liberally with the traditional: Basil, oregano, dash of hot red pepper flakes if you have them around, salt, and pepper. If you have a generic "italian seasoning," use that. Can't add a splash of red wine after the fact, but the restaraunt could (should) experiment with adding some pre-cook for flavor. Adding parmasean is good too, since likely only mozzarella was used if the dish lists any cheese. Other addition options include sauted veggies, mushrooms, etc.
The white sauce on dishes are either present or... just not, but tend to feel like heavy cream poured on pasta if they are there. The carbonara, since it comes with more ingredients, it reheats better than when it is when fresh since there's more time for the sauce to soak. For all white sauces, best to add some basic additions to your liking and let it soak in your fridge overnight, reheating later.
Breadsticks? You're mostly out if luck on the bread itself, but cutting it into strips then doing an oil and balsamic vinegar dipping dish helps. You can also cut it in half and use it for a sandwich situation of sorts I suppose.
Not on the food front, but adding to the experience is the food containers: they're pretty terrible. Single use aluminum corner crimped pie tin style with the fiddly thin plastic top. I honestly can't imagine these are even cheaper than the compostable to-go boxes...
Read moreGenuinely awful. I ordered a chicken fettuccine Alfredo and a chicken lasagna. Let's start with the fettuccine Alfredo.
In both meal instances they cut the chicken into comically small chunks. Like the size of a fingernail so you can't really eat it easily with a fork. The biggest issue though, is the sauce. It's the blandest sauce I've ever had. There's no salt or flavor present at all. And the amount. Good God. The amount of Alfredo sauce they put in was disgusting. It was literally like a soup. My wife looked over while I was eating and was visibly shocked. 0/10 chicken fettuccine Alfredo.
Next was the chicken "lasagna". Let's get it out of the way. It wasn't lasagna. It was fettuccine with more tiny little bits of chicken and a red sauce that also lacked any flavor whatsoever. They just melted a half inch thick layer of cheese on top to hide it. My first bite in, expecting, you know, lasagna, was ruined by the fact that it was noodles... What? That's not lasagna. Not even a little. No ricotta cheese, no layers. Not lasagna. And the worst part, yes even worse than it being the incorrectly named item, they had thought it was a good idea to just sprinkle random veggies, not throughout, but just on top of the noodles, under the cheese. There were giant pieces of onion and onion skin (🤮) melted in with the exorbitant amount of cheese.
And icing on the cake, even though it's rather small. I go in to pick up my order and I'm as polite as can be to the man at the register and tell him to have a great rest of the night and he just turned and walked away. Maybe he just didn't want to look at me knowing what food they just gave me, who knows. Either way really really disappointing. I hope more people read these reviews so they can decide to go...
Read moreI drive for Uber Eats. I got a request to pick up 2 separate orders. The drive to get there was 15 minutes. When I get to the location, I can't find it. It is 6pm on New Years Eve. I drive around for a few minutes. I decide to go over to the Value Village and LOW AND BEHOLD...THERE IT IS... WITH THEIR SIGN TURNED OFF. I walk into the place and told them I couldn't find the place because their sign is off. I tell the woman that I am picking up two orders for Uber. She then askes who (the names) I'm picking up. I give her the names and she begins to fuss with the Uber tablet. She then turns to a man and starts yelling at him in her language. The orders have been sitting in their Q for over 30 mi utes and they didn't notice them. The pizza oven wasn't even on!!!! I asked if the orders were ready and she told me to wait a minute and she continued to yell at the man. As an Uber delivery driver, we don't get paid to stand and wait while a food establishment pulls their head out of their @$$ to service their paying customers. Restruants have the orders 15 minutes before a delivery driver is notified. So... I canceled the orders. I wasn't about to wait another 30 minutes while they make the 2 orders. I can see why they have...
