Weâve been here before and the food and service was good. This time we came for the Fourth of July and it was the worst experience. The service was terrible, food was not good at all and it was expensive. They seated us right away and gave us chips and salsa. Then they decided to have a meeting then, No one stopped at our table for 20 minutes. I had to go get our own water, because weâve been eating only chips and salsa for the last 20 minutes. The restaurant was half empty.
We ask for our waitress four times before someone who was not our waitress showed up to take our order. However, the couple behind us were seated and taken care of right away. They had no wait. They had two waitresses that came over to take our order. It was clearly poor restaurant management.
Once we got our food it was even worse. It was flavorless served on flimsy styrofoam plates. I seen better plates at a picnic. It was like they opened a can of La Palmas Enchilada sauce and poured it over everything. Disgusting.
The staff was apologetic saying Iâm sorry but the waitress was confused, sorry for the long wait, sorry for the plates we used them for special events. The infuriating thing was that it also turned out that the person who gave me the waters at the bar and whom I ask for waitresses the first two times was the MANAGER, who completely ignored us. My mother asked for the manager several times and she never came. I wouldnât recommend this place.
Most definitely...
Read moreThe food here is great, but if you are thinking about attending the Mid Town location this Summer, on a Saturday night, you are taking a big gamble. It is one long, hot practice of customer neglect. There will be only one initial non-alcoholic drink order brought to your table ( and our waitress heavily resented the inconvenience of our request for the beverages to begin with, she actually rolled her eyes and huffed off not taking our meal order and let me tell you that no amount of please or gracious thank you(s) could salvage the damage moving forward ) then you are on your own. Don't even think about your starter, your food, water, napkins, silverware or any form of acknowledgment what-so-ever. And, if you manage to live long enough to enjoy the food you order (we waited over 25mins to order and 70 to 90 mins to receive our order from a very overworked guy bussing the tables) then the next great part of the odyssey is getting the hell out of there. The check just doesn't come to the table, you have to go and find it, depending on your wait staff. It was a total crummy, uncomfortable waste of time. Also, the prices for the food they offer are a bit inflated, if you want to tack on the the horrible service, then I would have to say it's even outrageous. Never going back and I wish any new comer the...
Read moreTook a friend here for a dinner date last name, and the service was absolutely phenomenal. Our waiter, Sergio (sorry if I spelled his name wrong!), was one of the most friendly servers I've had in a long time and told us stories about his days in Mexico. He told us about his sister who shared a name with my date, and it was very heartwarming. He even tolerated my very broken Spanish, but it seemed he and my date had a ball talking in Spanish together! Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Midtown, it is a very relaxed environment run by a very friendly staff who will make you feel like family. They of course have fantastic very authentic Mexican food - we both got the taco combo with Carne Asada and the salsa that came with it was just spicy enough for me and the Horchata was fantastic. The rice that was served was fantastic, Sergio told us that it was the same rice they made growing up and it takes him back home. Great alcohol selection as well, I plan to try a Margarita next...
