"Over staffed, yet under staffed" First ignore the 2 stars for food because I didn't eat. I had planned to but no one ever offered to take a food order, thus my first comment. There were several people that just seemed to stand around, take up space, and for the most part ignore customers. I was sitting at the bar so it was pretty easy to see I had a menu in front of me. I finished my beer and since no one asked to take a food order, left and went down the road to eat where my business was appreciated. There is no shortage of good restaurants in Rockport/Fulton area. The food I did see come out looked good, so I am not deterring anyone from giving it a try. However, not sure when I'll be back. Hopefully the management reads these reviews, as I notice a couple of other ones that mention poor service. All I can say, if I managed the place, there would be less employees that are only tanking up space and some that bust their tail putting smiles on the...
Read moreI have been in food service my whole life, from the bottom to the top. I was shocked by the unwelcoming feeling we received. No greetings no sign to seat myself, no attention from anyone for 9 minutes. I'm like that. I didn't trip. Our server acted as if we were I bother. I told her it was our first time. Asked for any suggestions.. nothing. It was like pulling air out of a deflated tired. Food so dry over cooked frozen meat products. So gross! We had a Philly and a blue cheese burger and a fried shrimp basket. Horrible. Although. Ido have to say the only decent thing was the fries. And the fact that the game was on every corner of the room. If I was to ever go back. It would only to watch a game and a beer.. well maybe they didn't have any oranges for my blue moon either.. so I drank a stale coors light.. I wish nothing but the...
Read moreThe shrimp tacos were disappointing in their meagerness with the protein amounting to a few salad shrimp and a few diced shreds of cabbage. The beans were almost as substantial as the tacos, but were unfortunately a bit mushy. I thoroughly enjoyed the reasonably priced shrimp sandwich and found the split roll loaded with rotund, meaty shrimps. It was enhanced by the cole slaw that I strewed across the protein whose presence would have been monochromatic otherwise. I devoured the French fries that were amply provided and seasoned with meat tenderizer and would order this meal again...but would carry it out on account of the overwhelming smoke smell that one can not escape within the confines of the rustic establishment. The young lady attended to us well, though, in the...
