Read moreI have been craving this place once a week ever since my indian and Afghan friends introduce me to this place. . I like coming here for the lunch buffet. They have amazing samosa which is this fried pastry with stuffed potatoes and peas inside and is not oily but so flavorful. I love to dip it in the white sauce which you need to request. This alone keeps me coming to the buffet once or twice a week. . I also love their white basmati rice which is fluffy and they mix in some corn peas and carrots which is very colorful and taste is simple and settled.. . Also I love their simple salad which is salad and the white sauce for dip. . As well I love their veggie of the day which changes and sometimes it could cauliflower broccoli eggplant cabbage or something. But yes simple buffet which is great for vegetarians which i am not but my co workers are but i love the vegeterian options so i have no problem. . They do offer 2 option meats like chicken which is cooked kind of like tikka masala with jalapeno but it's not tikka masala sauce. As well they have this lamb beef meat ball dish which the flavor is ok. . Also each buffet comes with a soda and their soda is the healthy not name brand sodas which is made out of real sugar and etc. . Also I tried their fries with white sauce which they ran out of samosa and omg it was so good that they do sell it on the side as an order and it's amazing if I'm not doing buffet. . All their food is consistent and taste the same even if they are busy. The food price is reasonable too. Yes its busy during lunch so...
Read moreHard to see from street, even though it is right on the street with outside seating. Located next to Crest Theater, which is much more visible.
Beautiful expression of the owner's soul. All the murals were created by the owner. Every piece and placement discovered, to include the fountain, was created in the owner's mind and with his hands. A lovely person to talk with if you visit while he is there. Walking around throughout the cafe, is in part like walking around inside the mind of the owner.
The motif of food and surroundings is Mediterranean. Outside seating has both views of the sidewalk/street and of the Crest Theater Garden.
Near K street and 11th; 2 blocks from the state Capitol Building.
Both outside tables and inside seating are available.
