My girlfriend and I had a tour at the city of Sacramento and checking nice spots to chill, to eat and to relax
A common friend of ours mentioned to visit and check The Boiling Crab
Well, from the word itself I was excited to check in and enjoy our lunch together
Upon arrival at the place, our waiter made sure that we had a great first time experience
He was very knowledgeable or informative while explaining to us the items in the menu
He was very patience with us because we took time to choose what we really wanted to try because there's a lot of them in the menu
We had the fried shrimp basket with fries and it was soooo good.
We ordered as well the dungeons crab and it comes with whole shell and crab.
It was very very spicy and we liked it so much, the spice is perfect
We especially enjoyed the Rajun Cajun with Shrimp
And the fun part is we eat with our bare hands and that's makes us bond as well through this kind of experience as it is my girlfriend's first time to eat with her hands
The ambiance is very lively, fun and super clean
All the staff were very friendly and assisted us in an expedient manner
Cheerful people, great, good foodies
Absolutely, we will recommend them to all our friends and family that will visit the city
The boiling crab is definitely the place you won't regret to go for at...
Read moreThe experience started uncomfortable from the getgo. There was a parade of unhoused; almost naked individuals, staring at the patrons waiting for a table. At one point, there was a man with his pants down to his thighs pretending to be a bouncer because he was standing at the entrance and would stare at every customer walking in from head to toe. This was in plain sight of employees and nothing was done. The food is what you would expect from a Boiling Crab place. Shrimp Crab, Crab Legs etc. smothered on cajun sauce. Service was friendly, efficient but did not impress. It could be because the place sure was busy and employees seemed to have enough motivation to do just their job. The place overall seemed a bit dirty. The tables were cleaned after every customer, but the floors felt a bit sticky when walking. The bathrooms were the most disappointing of all. Stalls were dirty, smelly and in dire need of some TLC (That in my opinion falls solely on management) The bathrooms and handwash station did not have any soap. That is really disappointing considering is a place were you are encouraged eat with your bare hands. We made do with the moist towellettes. Really one of the worst vists I've had at this chain, having visited a number of them mostly in Southern California this was a...

No big deal since we were downtown and there's stuff to do to kill time. So they text us around 8:15 and we get seated. We get the menu and none of the items have prices they just say "market price", which I know a lot of places do but not on everything on the menu. So we order and my wife orders the Cajun shrimp and I order the fried catfish. The food comes and my wife's shrimp is in a sack, like literally a plastic sack of shrimp, no plate no nothing. Sack of shrimp. So, she gets one of the shrimp out of the sack and it's a whole shrimp. Legs, head, everything. Like picture the scene in Forrest Gump after the storm and they finally catch some shrimp, and it dumps out of the net all over the deck, that's what this would look like if you dumped it out. So she proceeds to peel the shrimp and I feel bad for her so I start helping. By the time we were done we both damn near had carpal tunnel. The shrimp tasted OK but wasn't worth the work. As for my catfish, it smelled and tasted like dirt, I didn't eat it. Bottom line is there are far better seafood places for the same or less money. I don't know why the place was so busy, I would never go...
