This was the worst dining experience my partner and I have had in a very long time it ruined our trip to Salem. My partner and I both ordered burgers. I asked to substitute cheddar for American cheese and grilled onions for the raw it came with. The menu states the burgers come with seasoned fries or can be upgraded to Parmesan. I specified I would like the seasoned fries (I didn't want any fancy ones, just regular). The server wrote both of our orders down. When the food came out, my burger had American cheese, raw red onion, and I was given Parmesan fries.
When I took the bun off of the burger, the American cheese was rubbery and stuck to the bread just like the plasticky Kraft store bought slices (it tasted like it too) 🤢 The pickles on top of the burger were the exact same as the ones they use at McDonald's. The ketchup bottle was crusty. These burgers were $18 (!!!!) and should have been no more than $6. We were SHOCKED at how overpriced it was and what bad quality. When I mentioned the incorrect food to the server, he brought it back with "cheddar" and red onions that they tossed on a grill (since when does grilled onions mean RED?) They also kept the parmasean fries on my plate and brought over a new basket of regular. They ended up CHARGING us for the parmesan fries that I didn't ask for.
Additionally, there was a sign that said to please inform your server if you have a tour scheduled. We had one scheduled for 7 o'clock. Our server told us we would have plenty of time when we expressed our concern before ordering. We asked for the check around 6:48 PM but our server did not bring it until several minutes later. We frantically rushed out and RAN to our meeting spot. We got there at 7:02, but the tour group had left. We ended up missing out on our tour which we paid $40 a ticket for becuase of the slow and inconsiderate service. The only reason we came here was because they had the quickest wait time of any restaurant we called but I wish we just went to the...
Read moreI visited here for the first time a week ago to have dinner. There were 9 of us. Three of us ordered the Bone-In Prime Rib Eye. The server came back 20 minutes later to advise us they only had 1 Rib Eye left. One of us changed our dinner to something else, so 2 of us could get what we ordered. When I got my dinner it was just a flat piece of beef more than over cooked not with the seasonings offered on the menu and certainly not the Rib Eye medium rare that I ordered by far. I tried wait for the server to come back, so I could ask what type of beef it was. In the meantime, I was hungry and didn't see the serve for some time, so I tried it. When she finally came back, I said this is not the Rib Eye I ordered and it is cooked well, not medium rare. She looked at the plate and said "Oh yeah" and walked away. When we received the check, I again asked what it was and she replied a different type of Rib Eye which I do not believe it was and when asked about the price, I was told it's the same price as the one I did not receive ($58.00). It was very disappointing and I did not want to embarass the rest of the group, so I bothered not to go any futher questioning as I knew I would probaby not get far. I think they were more concered about the big wedding going on than they were the restaurant. I gave it one star, because if I didn't pick at least one star, then I couldn't post my review. Zero is...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. It did not meet our expectations for a nice Sunday brunch. Although the restaurant room is decorated nicely and is in keeping with the historic hotel, the rest of the experience was mediocre.
The piano player does not need a speaker/microphone In that small space. Very very loud performance.
Although some of the staff was working diligently, the other half of the staff seemed to truly not care about their role in the food service process and failed on so many levels.
The food itself was very basic. I fully agree with other reviewers when they say you could go to a local diner and get a much better breakfast.
It is so disappointing to see a nice place treated as if it's an old Howard Johnson's restaurant. There's so much untapped potential there. The cute restaurant could be treated with an elegance that it deserves and be a delightful experience for diners, but unfortunately between the poor food and the lackluster staff it fails. It sadly did not meet our expectations and we will...
