Bonne Vie — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

odd experience here. Ordered a green smoothie and they completely forgot which is no problem but they were not one bit sorry. I was standing for awhile while everyone got their drink so I enquired and they responded uninterested and not one bit sorry? Shortly after as I waited for it to be made they asked “did you pay for it we have no record”. I responded yes and told them I paid with a Global Money Card (a Visa card used for travel). They searched through and finally found my receipt with my signature. I cannot help but feel they were doing this on purpose to troll me and give me a hard time. I was thinking why they’d target me with all this hassle and I realised I did not tip. I felt immediately really bad but it was an accident as I am not used to this tipping system in America. I have a thick Irish accent and a travel Visa card so I was hoping they’d know i wasn’t being mean I just didn’t know how this stuff works. Anyway the staff proceed to have the gossip of a lifetime to each other about some drama and they were so loud it was actually entertaining. I just want to advise management to train these young people to not be so petty and some people are just weary travellers and not not tipping because they’re mean but because they completely forgot! Staying in the grand America hotel for 3 nights so will probably get my morning coffee elsewhere to be honest. It’s a shame the coffee and smoothies are great but staff are not good...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My wife has been staying at the Grand America since 2014, and I’ve been joining her regularly since 2022 as we travel to Salt Lake City from Pennsylvania for business. BONNE VIE is always one of our favorite stops during our visits.

This charming little café inside the hotel consistently delivers some of the best coffee we’ve ever had—and we consider ourselves coffee connoisseurs. Whether it’s their handcrafted espresso drinks, fresh pastries, breakfast sandwiches, or indulgent milkshakes and ice cream, everything is top notch.

The staff is always friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. On this particular visit, Austin went above and beyond—super helpful, kind, and polite. We’ve stayed at some of the nicest hotels in the country, and BONNE VIE continues to stand out as one of our favorite spots anywhere.

If I could give it six stars, I would. Highly recommend stopping here whether you’re staying at the hotel or just passing through...

This cute little bakery is just inside the Grand America Hotel. They may not have gotten my order right the first time or even on time however they sure made up for it in the end. The only bakery in town that would fulfill my Boston Cream Cake request and they hit it out of the park! Almost too fancy to eat but of course we ate it anyway and it was DE-LIC-IOUS!!
