Red Beryl Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

I’m basing this review only as sitting at the bar. I did not try seating on the restaurant side, but the menu is the same in both places. The food is not what you would expect at a doubletree. I’ve been here in two different trips and the food is consistently sub par. The first time was back in September and the kitchen was out of most items on the menu. This trip, our crew had ordered quesadillas, wings, fries, salmon, and the flatbread. The quesadillas tasted like they used microwaved chicken. Wings, fries and salmon were pretty good. The service also was a lot better on this trip than back in September. Depending on the bar staff, you will get either really great service or you will be ignored and practically have to beg them to wait on you. They menu online said lemon ricotta pancakes so we came here instead of our other options. Of course no pancakes. Their breakfast buffet is $18 a person and it is worse than a free continental breakfast. Plus there was zero service. They seated us and then ignored us. All the freshly backed good we’d not fresh and were rock hard. We arrived at 9:30 and more than half the food was gone and never replenished. I would not go there again.
