If you go to their Salt lake location, their food is yummy, the place is cool, service is good. We were SOOO disappointed tho when we ordered catering from them for OUR WEDDING for 100 people. They forgot to bring the food, we had to call them when it was past the time they were supposed to “start setting up” and they said that “our order never got placed”, even though we had multiple texts with Josue the manager confirming all the details about the catering order. Then they told us that they could be there in an hour so we accepted because by that point, what do we have to lose? We ended up getting food for maybe 30 people, most of our guests didn’t even get to eat 2 tacos (out of the 3 they had promised) cause the food was gone within the first 30 min and ON TOP OF ALL THAT, everyone that did have food said that the tortillas were so cold, the taco pretty much felt apart before the first bite. IT WAS A DISASTER. Once this happened, they told us that we would only have to pay half of our bill but after talking to our guests, we decided to call this dude Josue and his customer service is bad. He hung up on us and also, how do you forget to confirm a catering that big??? And kept blaming it on US FOR NOT CALLING THEM to confirm the order. ARE YOU KIDDING??? So freaking disappointing cause we loved roctaco! They were one of our most expensive options for food but we decided to go for it because we loved their tacos. Super sad because it’s a small business that we wanted to support but they need a new manager badly that will get it together, remember to put catering orders and has better...
Read moreFor selfish reasons, I'd love to say this place is awful and you should avoid it at all costs. But I can't. This place is fantastic. Without a doubt the best tacos you can find in Salt Lake. Located in downtown Salt Lake, RocTaco is nestled in a cool building with great decorations and an industrial vibe inside. The staff is friendly and helpful (especially if it's your first time there). They have loads of really great options for tacos. I ordered the Uncle Al (phenomenal), Bahn Mijo (equally phenomenal), and the Jimy Churri (phenomenal as well). I would say my favorite was the Uncle Al but they were all solid. Other options for tacos included a tikka misala infused taco. My wife ordered the deep fried avacado taco and she said it was her favorite. We ordered the Uncle Al nachos as well and they did not disappoint. Prices are average. It's around $4 a taco and worth every penny. I ordered three and was stuffed for the rest of the day. If you want beer, they also have this as well. I really liked how they labeled every taco as well. We ordered a wide variety and this simple touch really helped us navigate the tacos easily. This was an amazing experience and I will be returning on a regular basis. Rock...
Read moreThe food I ordered was about $20 for 3 tacos, drink and tip, YES, 3 tacos. I ordered the Jimmy Churri, Rude Bull and the Amy Hates Fish. They were good tacos, but pricy. I wanted to love this place so bad, but the price vs whatever you get doesn’t make sense. The three tacos came over sauced, messy and lil bit sloppy on the prep and the proteins were limited, again, this considering the price. They charge between $4 and close to $6 the piece.
And the more disappointed part was the experience.
There is no room at all inside of the building to wait until is your turn to order. Was mid 80s with no shade outside and waited about 20 mins. I can’t imagine this waiting time on winter. On top of this, the food prep person exchanged cigarettes with another employee that I will assume was taking a break.
The exchanged happened in the counter were the place the tacos when ready and the one taking the break leaned over the food on the counter (luckily was not my food). The food prep person never changed his gloves after the exchange. I called to the manager, but this doesn’t seem to be a big...
