To preface: I am not someone who often leaves negative reviews. But our experience here was really, really terrible. We walked in, and there was only one family and one couple inside the restaurant. We then waited a few minutes to sit down, and our server took us to a table. She gave us our menus, and asked us what we wanted to drink. We gave her our orders (a water and a fountain drink) and she left. We then proceeded to wait 15 minutes for JUST our drinks.
I feel that I am a rather understanding person. If a restaurant is busy, I get it if it takes a minute for us to get taken care of as there are other customers. But our server just sort of disappeared into some sort of back room, not helping anyone else. We also noted that the other couple she was helping, who we were sitting next to, waited 15 min for their checks during this time.
Once we did get our drinks, she asked us point blank “What are we eating?” (read: she knew we HAD to know by now because we had time to read the menu 20 times over) and we placed our orders. She disappeared into a back room again. My husband and I started exchanging glances and noting how lazy the rest of the servers looked at this time. There was an open break room behind us with plates of half-finished food, and our server as well as another server were chatting in the beverage station area with Big Gulp sodas in hand. We saw another couple walk in, get menus, sit down, and wait 10 min with no server stopping by. They left before our food was out.
This all being said, the cooks were amazing. They made all the food in an open kitchen and seemed dedicated to their work. However, once they had finished an order, they placed the plates on a countertop and rung a bell diner-style, and the servers lazily walked out to drop off the orders their customers were waiting for. I joked with my husband that it would be much faster for me to grab our plates than to wait for Mrs. Big Gulp to mosey over to us.
The food was okay. Sweet potato fries were great, my husband got the brisket sandwich which he gave a 5/10. I got the alfredo, which I would give a 5/10 as well. Not worth the wait by a long shot. We then ate our food, and our server disappeared into her hideaway again. She never checked on us or offered drink refills. My husband about died from the sugary ketchup he was given, and a server was nowhere to be found, so he asked the cook for some BBQ sauce. He was clearly in the middle of cooking, but took the time to get this for my husband. He was fantastic.
We finished our food a few minutes later and had been at the restaurant far longer than we had wanted to. We wanted to get the attention of our server to check us out, but she was nowhere to be found. So, my husband walked to the break room, where multiple employees were seemingly just hanging out. He went to the other back room, found our server, and had her check us out so we could leave.
Overall, the vibe of the restaurant is indecisive. It’s got rustic wood elements, urban graffiti art, modern minimalist light fixtures, and industrial exposed pipes. The food was nothing we would come back for. And the service? There wasn’t any :)
I leave this review in hopes that a manager/owner will see it and make some changes. This place has potential, but the employees clearly do not care, and this place will keep continue to yield unhappy customers unless...
Read moreThis is hard to review, because the food was great. However the service was very subpar. No one was rude, but they definitely did not care to be friendly.
My wife and I have heard great things about their burgers, so we stopped by at 12:30 on a Thursday to get some lunch. Ordered some bread, which the butter was harder than I would have liked, but man was the bread and apple jam great!
After thanking the server for delivering the bread, she said nothing, didn't make eye contact and disappeared never to be seen again. That's part of the problem, as they were clearly understaffed.
We sat next to the kitchen/bar where food sits to get picked up, and noticed that there was quite the line of food sitting for delivery. Of that line, was our burgers. They sat there for what felt like an honest 15-20 minutes. Long enough that our fresh burgers were room temp by the time they got to us.
The host would come by and tidy up the line of food, make some fry sauce, spear the burgers with knives, etc. However he didn't deliver any of the food. He even came back to the line of food a couple of times, but no delivering. So we sat there watching our food get cold, while no staff were in sight.
Eventually another waiter came over and delivered our food, very politely but still not friendly. I pointed out that the burgers were cold and were sitting out for a while, and that we would like them to be remade if that was possible.
The waiter, still polite, said of course and put in the order again. The chef/cook was not happy about it, which felt accusatory to us.
If I'm going to pay $18 for a burger, I expect it to be warm and not room temp like it was. Eventually we got the new burgers and fries and it was superb. If the meal had been delivered to us in a timely manner, this review would have been very different.
After asking for the burgers to be remade, the staff treated us very differently. I kept saying thank you and how much we appreciated the flexibility, but every time I spoke, they would talk over me or pretend I didn't say anything or just flat out walk away from me mid-sentence. It was honestly very frustrating to not be able to thank someone for attending to us after a simple mistake.
Lastly, it was very noticable how unclean the facility is. There was what looked like dust and food particles on the pillar we were sat next to, that was clearly weeks old and gone without notice. My wife pointed out to me on our way out that the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, and likely had dead cockroaches in there.
As greatful as I am that I got two free appetizer coupons from them, I would have appreciated it being applied to my current bill, instead of a next meal, as we don't plan on ever going back, unfortunately. The food itself was great, but not enough to overlook the...
Read moreHorrible service with an empty restaurant. Food was inedible and over cooked. Would not recommend.
Service- After waiting 5 minutes to be greeted by Jayce, that was in the back room laughing & chatting, she finally came out to ask if we wanted drinks. We were sat close enough to a "back room" in which several servers were sitting, eating and yes, drinking beers. We had a perfect shot of them as we were the last table before their "back room".
Our server, Jayce, greeted us. Grabbed us waters & asked for our order. No recommendations, no "what brings you in today,, no "have you been here before." The restaurant was slow enough there were only 4 other tables. The cooks were standing around waiting and the servers were clearly, not focused on guests. And not even just our server, other servers were hanging in the back room too.
We ordered our meal, both burgers and a side, we were not asked how we wanted our burgers cooked. I realized I should probably tell our server I wanted mine medium. I kept looking for her to tell her. But she was in the back room laughing and hanging with the other servers.
She finally came out to give another table a bill, I stopped her to ask how they cook them here. She said "medium well". Never. Have I ever been to a restaurant in which they cook the burgers medium well. It drains all of the juices out. I ask her if its too late to ask for medium so she goes and tells the expo to ask the cook. We are sitting directly in front of the cooks. She walks right past us, doesn't acknowledge us, doesn't sat 'sorry for not checking in sooner.'
Our food- was gross. Inedible. There was zero flavor. & over cooked. And when i mean no flavor I mean zero. Flavor. Both my daughters burger and my burger were dry over cooked. She couldnt even finish it, it was so burnt. She ordered "cheese bread" she was so excited about and it was literally only burnt cheese on a pirce of bread. It was so gross she didnt eat that either. I spent extra money for sweet potato fries and they had a weird after taste. I do not recommend.
Since our server was not paying attention to us, we ate our enitre meal without her asking how our food was. And rather than recognizing that half my burger wasnt eaten, my fries werent eaten, half my daughters meal wasnt eaten and nor was her bread, she just gave us our check.
There is zero reason or excuses for her poor service and the food overcooked. The restaurant wasn't full. The servers were in the back eating, laughing and drinking. We could see them and hear them.
Our server literally was at our table 4 times: ask for drinks, took our order, dropped off food and dropped off the check in which i handed her the card immediately. Horrible service. Food was literally inedible. Completely baffled by the "service" and would love...
