Service was terrible tonight. Completely empty restaurant yet the 2 guys behind the bar couldn't be bothered to great our table for at least 15 minutes as we sat in plain view. We came here bc we saw a delicious looking picture of some sirloin and fries and the online menu looked inviting. Well both of those were a lie. The in person menu was completely different from Google's online one, and I've attached the picture of the "rare" tenderloin I received. Absolutely flavorless, even adding salt could not save this dish. Mashed potatoes tasted like bland mush too. I don't know how you can remove the garlic taste from garlic butter but this place found a way and made it seem like I was eating a steak sitting in oil. The fish tacos my bf had came out Luke warm and we're very small sized, like street tacos, for $14!! Highway robbery. Will not return for dinner anytime soon, we were just too tired from our drive in to go out to eat this evening. Bc of how subpar the food was, and small portions with fine dining prices, we had to go out and find other food anyways. If this place has such low standards they should lower their prices too. $59 for crappy steak and 3 tiny tacos made for a bad experience. Skip it and just go out to eat at any of the other fantastic restaurant...
Read moreOh, man! This place is delicious. I try to live a somewhat low carb lifestyle and SoFrio offers some delicious options. I had the pleasure to indulge in their 10oz sirloin topped with garlic roasted mushrooms and a side of asparagus. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. I'm a cook myself so I don't say this lightly. However, when I want to eat clean carbs SoFrio also offers amazing options in that department as well; the Buddha Bowl comes to mind. Wow! It's amazing and lays siege upon your taste buds in an explosion of flavors. It's delicious and the best part? It's light, but not too light to be unfulfilled and not too heavy to leave you unfuctional or lethargic. I also had the pleasure to try the Brussels. I know many people aren't fans of these little cruciferous vegetables, but SoFrio's will change your mind. I couldn't believe they were Brussels. They were roasted superbly with sweet and smokey notes from the cashews that are also an integral ingredient to this tasty side. Yes, SoFrio is located within the Double Tree in downtown San Antonio. Yes, it's open to the public and I hope more people find this gem of a place. I'm personally looking forward to eating here again. The staff is also ace! Very attentive and friendly....
Read moreThe only reason I am not rating this place perfect is only because nothing is perfect. The atmosphere and vibe of the staff is truly awesome. The servers (Crystal Cortez) was attentive and quick with her service while maintaining and professional and friendly demeanor. The chefs (Chef William and chef Camiño) at SoFrio are masters at their craft. The food is incredibly good while having some of the best prices for a restaurant downtown. This has easily become a favorite place for me to get some award winning food and drinks. If you have not been here, PLEASE do yourself a favor and hurry up!!! You DO NOT have to stay at the hotel to...
