We were excited to visit this place because of the location. Made a reservation for 6 people and the maximum stay is 90 minutes , that’s understandable . I can understand if people are a just sitting there without consuming much. Although ,it puts people off from wanting to buy more than a couple beers, we would have continuously bought beer if it wasn’t for their time limit. The guy that checked us in wasn’t welcoming at all and they made sure to keep reminding us about our time left. There was many empty tables and no one waiting for one. At the time , you had to buy food with your beer, that’s ok except they didn’t let us know that sides were an extra $2 dollars until one of my friend explicitly asked. They just asked what side you wanted and listed them off. Again NBD , just a little irritating. The bartender was super rude when we asked about the beers, honestly we were very surprised as we had never encounter that in any other SD brewery. He just seemed irritated and told us to look at the menu online if we had more questions. We weren’t holding up anyone in the line. Lastly, it was a chilly day and while that’s not their fault they do have heaters available. We requested one and saw they had a couple that weren’t being used. Never got one and the table next to us requested one after us and was provided the one left. Would like to think this one was a misunderstanding. Overall, I don’t really leave negative reviews but the experience was so disappointing here for the price. Really didn’t get the laid back vibe that most breweries have. The beer is ok for the price. During check out my friend was asked for her last name but we didn’t hear well so she replied with her table number , the bartender was snarky about it instead of repeating himself. Our group was disappointed at the service and we didn’t think the beer was worth...

Read moreWow! This is a great new location for Eppig. Absolutely gorgeous views--much better than their original location in North Park combined with lots more space to sit and plenty of nearby parking make this a great addition to Eppig’s locations.
Of course, they also have the same great variety of high quality beers we’ve come to expect from Eppig. This isn’t just an IPA shop. While they do have some fantastic ones that I like even though I’m not typically an IPA drinker, they also have a bunch of lagers and some sours. They’ve been adding some barrel aged brews to the line up recently too.
They are apparently going to add some of their own food options soon. But even before that, there are some other great food options nearby, such as Point Loma Seafoods which is right next door. You can bring your food back and sit on the Eppig patio.
The only trick to this location is to park at Brigantine. There’s a big parking lot there and half it of is free. It’s only a 2 block walk along the waterfront to get to Eppig from there. As soon as you cross Shelter Island Drive, you can see Eppig’s building with their huge patio. Just be sure to NOT park at the Point Loma Seafoods lot. They WILL tow your car!
Once you get here, it’s a great location to relax and enjoy some great beer with fantastic scenery that only San Diego...
