Edit as of 9/7/2022 My opinion of this place has slowly declined to a rating of 1 star. I used to love this place, but the last three visits have given me such a bitter taste in my mouth, metaphorically speaking.
The woman manning the cash register is quite rude, the prices on certain items are way more than you’d see at a comparable Mexican restaurant, and I’ve witnessed two things that have me wondering about a possible health code violation.
One burrito we ordered had A LITERAL SCREW in it. When the manager was confronted, he took the screw from me and offered to make me another burrito. He didn’t even attempt to give me a refund or remedy the situation beyond making another burrito. I don’t know how to begin to address that.
Secondly, while I was watching them make a burrito for me today (9/7/2022), the man making my food didn’t cover his mouth while he coughed several times - resulting in him coughing all over the hot top where my veggies were being made.
Beyond the two major issues mentioned above, they are prone to making mistakes. Over the last year, I’ve had to drive back to the store at least half a dozen times to have them correct a mistake or a make an item that they missed the first time around.
Lastly, the food quality has gone downhill.. the food used to be outstanding. We loved coming here because of the quality ingredients. I can’t stand by that sentiment anymore because it’s not true.
In summary, I will not be back. Please find another place to eat because it’s only a matter of time before you’re disappointed with the service, food quality, or some other aspect of...
Read moreGreat craft beers! Though, I'm skeptical about the quality of the beers shelved. I go for the fresh local stuff like Sculpin or other Ballasts because THEY ARE DELICIOUS and also because I know there is a rapid turnover which means mmmmm good... I tried a Monk's Cafe Flemish Ale from there just recently and it was not in good condition. I had tried it previously from another store about a year ago and it was super effervescent and full of body. The best I can describe the recent one is - flat. AND THIS MAY NOT BE THE FAULT OF THE LIQUOR STORE! I realize that, but its worth mentioning; insert grain of salt here! I also like that they have a few craft sodas like Ginger beer by Bundaberger (I think this is the brand name). . Found Coronado's Sock Knocker here a few days ago but heard they are already out !
OK, here is the BEST part about Liticker's... There is a Mexican food place inside the store! I was SUPER skeptical the first time I went, but they actually have some of the best selection for a fast food Mexican shop. It's varied in selection and there are a couple salsa that are really delish on their salsa bar, nice spice but not burning. The only thing I've tried that was not good is the rojo enchiladas. The sauce is WAY too salty, and I'm not an anti-salt person. It was just too much. The service is so-so. Sometimes really nice and attentive, other days a little off. Its ok though, its still a great neighborhood...
Read moreI was so thrilled to find this place. Their vegan menu is HUGE and the hardest part is choosing one of the bountiful delicious options. I wished I’d found this place long ago. I would’ve come here for years!
I only took off a star because they don’t list all the ingredients in each item on the menu, so be sure to ask if you have a food sensitivity or allergy. I am very sensitive to processed soy, so I specifically chose something without a vegan meat option - I got the shiitake burrito - but as I ate it I kept finding pieces of soy meat (at least it wasn’t actual meat I guess), and by the time I got to the point where I went back in and said something, they just kind of shrugged their shoulders at me and said it was the vegan carne asada. When I pointed out that it wasn’t listed and that I’d chosen as I had because I was avoiding the soy meats, they still just shrugged at me. I’m surprised this isn’t a bigger concern given all the food allergies and sensitivities these days. Lucky for me I’m not allergic, it just does a number on my digestion… which isn’t really nice to deal with either.
Overall though I’d still come back and just be more annoying about asking what exactly was in anything I was thinking of ordering. The burrito was totally delicious, if a little loosely wrapped, and they actually put a fair amount of guacamole in it unlike some...
