Roberto's Taco Shop - Ocean Beach — Restaurant in San Diego

This place it great! Lived in OB in the mid to late 80's, was our stop after a night at the bars in Mission Valley (long lines of party goers). Moved to Seattle and visited SD and took a girlfriend there and she loved it. A few nights later our night to go out for a nice dinner in our very nice hotel downtown all dressed up turned into a last minute trip to Roberto's, brought it back to our room to eat with a great view from high in our room her in her dress, me in a tie. Get the jalapeno (pickled) carrots...crunchy and just a bit spicy, not bad...perfect to put in a burrito or taco! Everytime I visit SD, this is a must stop...just for the memories of all the great food I've had there over the last 30 years!! Now that I am in Orange County, it is...

Horrible service went through drive through on the left side he asked what I wanted I told him I was looking for a burrito with carne asada, guacamole, sour cream & cheese he says we dont have one like that we just have what's on our menu I said okay one second so I can browse menu im looking then I see the " carne asada fries burrito " i proceeded to order that and it was silent I kept saying excuse me no response people were driving thru the other side and they were getting there orders taken I pulled up to the window to see what happen after waiting 5 min they look at me and all continue talking and messing around I said excuse me again he looked at me and ignored me I just drove away never ever giving my business to them again...

This place is a hit or miss, more misses than hits!

Whenever I don't feel like driving to Nico's on Morena or I'm too drunk to go anywhere else, then this place is my last resort. They'll get your order wrong and be stingy with the salsas. Yet, I still go there out of convenience.

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT AND OPEN YOUR FOOD CONTAINER TO DOUBLE CHECK THAT YOU GOT WHAT YOU PAID FOR! Shouldn't have to be that way but if no one is checking on their job than why would they care!?

They used to be open 24-Hours also. Minus another star for changing that. But hey, I'm just a local, what do I know. The inexperienced white folk around here...
