Living In east village and close to downtown my wife and I find ourselves eating out more often then usual and going out for the nite life and what’s the best cure for a hangover? One a michelada and second a good greasy hamburger,so we’re excited when we saw swagu A5 opening and after a hangover from the padres opening day we where all in. Were greeted by a friendly host but we bypassed her and sat at the bar. The place reminded me of an old steak house but modern they have red and black decor with gold accents and a cool wine room. You can’t miss a score on any game since there’s a tv on every wall and a huge one on the outside patio. They offer a variety of alcohol from mid to high end liquor it’s a decent selection with about 24 taps and some bottle beers. We ordered a Michelada it was average at best he added a bit to much tomato juice. We ordered a OG swagu and a side of onion rings the burger looked amazing the taste melt in your mouth the burger was cooked to perfection I personally could have done without the sauce but it was good. The onion rings were over cooked but seasoned well. The prices are reasonable and I definitely will be back to try other items. I recommend it if you wanna watch a game or have dinner or just grab a drink. If you sit at the bar...

Swagyu Burger – A Grand Slam Before the Padres Game

My wife and I hit up Swagyu Burger before heading to a San Diego Padres game, and honestly, that combo turned out to be a total win. Great food and baseball? Can’t beat it.

Right from the start, the vibe was great—and our waitress, Paulina, made it even better. She was super friendly, attentive, and just made everything easy. Great service like that always sets the tone.

We both went with the 1/4LB Classic Smash Burger, and it was incredible. Perfectly crispy smash patty, melty American cheese, fresh toppings, and their secret sauce, all tucked into a soft brioche potato bun. Every bite just worked.

We added a side of their housemade spicy Serrano peppers—they’ve got a serious kick but pair perfectly with the burger if you like some heat.

And let’s not forget the A5 Wagyu Fat Shoestring Fries. Crispy, golden, and fried in pure A5 wagyu beef fat—you can actually taste the richness. Easily some of the best fries I’ve had in a while.

All in all, Swagyu Burger is my #1 burger of the month, and pairing it with a Padres game? That’s a winning combo in my book. Can’t wait to do it again.

So I work at Petco Park and I was absolutely floored at my recent visit to this establishment, as a matter of fact, it was today. I walked in and everything went well. I ordered the "OG" burger and the fries that were cooked in the wagyu fat. I was told it would be a bit so I agreed and sat down to watch a little TV there. When my meal was brought out, the runner repeated my order, a "OG" burger, No cheese and No pickle and a order of fries. So i took my meal and headed back to Petco to enjoy my lunch. As it would happen, I wasn't able to eat my meal until I got home. So I heated it back up and even before I took my first bite, I noticed there was cheese on my burger. So I offered it to my father, who was extremely pleased with the sandwich. I genuinely wanted to enjoy it but instead, my father had a great lunch. This isn't about getting something in return, it's about how truly DISAPPOINTED I am. As a matter of fact, I even tipped the lady who took my order. If anyone reads this, understand I spoke highly about the restaurant up until today. So you make your decision. For me?, I think twice about ordering again. Thanks for letting...

If you love Waygu beef, then you're going to love Swaygu! I had the Classic Burger, and it was excellent! Also had the Salted Caramel shake with it, as well as the fries which were also great, because they're made with A5 Waygu fat, and honestly, take a bite of burger, throw in a couple of fries, and take a sip of the shake, and yup, perfect combination!!😋 If you're going, make sure it ISN'T during a Padres game, as parking is near impossible without paying an ungodly amount for garage parking, or go EARLY if you are attending a game. Non-game nights are much easier for parking. Service could've been better--food came without napkins (you'll definitely need one!) and we had to ask for them, and no one came around to refill waters, we only had a cursory "Everything ok?" as the server walked away--the restaurant was busy because of the game, but that's not an excuse. But if you want a very tasty burger, Swaygu is definitely worth trying!
