(Last visited 5/12/2022.) Hanging out in San Diego for the weekend with my boys and it's time for dinner after a long day of partying in this beautiful city! We were just walking around downtown and saw that this place had been rented out for a private event. That MUST mean it's good, right?! So we popped in the next day to see what all the hype is about...

Atmosphere/Appearance: It's basically a giant, rustic, chill sports bar and I loved it. The ceilings were high and this is gonna sound funny, but it felt like we were IN a giant pizza oven. Lol. It wasn't hot or anything, but the walls are lined in brick, the risers are rounded creating arches above our heads and the place was so wide open! There was wood everywhere, good, loud, energetic music, picnic tables that made you share and of course other dining sections in case you wanted somewhere quieter.

Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but I know we had a good time and didn't need anything.

Food: The pizzas we ordered were absolutely enormous. Probably like wheels on a car/truck you'd see in Atlanta. Lol. We ordered a straight cheese and I think a meaty version. The crust was thin and crispy. The cheese was lighter than I would've liked, but that's fine since the crust was so thin. The toppings were delicious and yo... I can see why this place has won so many awards and why so many people have been here!

Value: I can't remember. A: You're in California. Lol. B: It's San Diego. C: It's DOWNTOWN San Diego. Nothing is going to be cheap, but pizza usually doesn't do you wrong. Lol. Splitting the 2 giant pizzas between the 4 of us didn't break our pockets at all.

In conclusion, I loved this place and I know we'll be back here the next time we...

I ordered a large pepperoni pizza take-out picked it up brought home only to find a hair baked in the pizza. The way they are handling food is unsanitary. Take it from a medical student, I was celebrating my finals today with friends and family, this situation ruin my day. I actually was eating the pizza only to bite into a hair baked in the pizza. I was put on hold for a while on the phone so I drove downtown to take the pizza back. It disgusted by they're manners and the way they prepare food. I spoke to the manager a young guy who I felt was lying he was the manager, only to avoid getting in-trouble. He couldn't explain to me why there was either a beard hair or pubic hair in the pizza. He asked me if I wanted a refund or have them make it for me!?! I said I'm definitely not eating here again. As I was leaving I asked ok you're gonna take care of the it? He replied "it's on me" I asked what's on you the pubic hair? He answer all pissed "yeah it's my pubic hair on the pizza" I just left the pizza and took off. People should know the type of service this...

Service: 5 star. Waitress was friendly. When the waitress noticed that the kitchen has wrongly added ingredients to the pizza, she took the initiative to ask the kitchen to re-do the pizza. As a result, we waited around 35-40min for a pizza. Ambient: 4 star. Nice furniture. Great for large group outings. The music was bad, and too loud for lunch conversations. There was a jarring sound which happened when the house was transitioning the music AV equipment, and that sound shocked all the customers. Pizza: 3.5 star. Being a thin crust pizza fan, I have to say I have tried better wood-fried pizza places in Chicago, Seattle, New York and San Francisco. For a place that is selling a pizza at near 20 dollar price, I had high expectations. Take margherita pizza for example, the pizza turned lukewarm pretty soon and the mozzarella on the margherita pizza was nowhere to be found. The margherita pizza contained canned/stewed tomato source that tasted as if it was bought from the dollar shop. Avoid margherita pizza at all cost if you are coming here....

I came in about two weeks ago with my family to eat some pizza before the Padres game. We love coming here before the game because the food here is on point. My issue isn't with the food. It was with the blonde bartender that was working that Saturday 7/29 in the afternoon. I politely informed her that my mojito had a bug in it. She took the drink and proceeded to make me another one which was fine but she didn't even apologize or show any sort of customer service to rectify the situation. I wouldn't be writing this review if she provided some customer service as I understand things happen. I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence but I am not used to having gnats in my drinks. We got there at 2:30pm (we had a reservation) and were already getting kicked out by 4pm because another group had reservations at 4. It was weird because we weren't there for the 2 hour or 3 hour time allotted for groups our size. Service just seemed a bit off that day for me. The pizza is always good, I just can't stand behind poor service.

You want a PIZZA PARTY!! This is a great place for that. ~Super high energy music, sports TV, and awesome waitstaff! And the pizza is DELICIOUS. Very light and fresh tasting, with that brick oven slightly smoky crust! The salads are substantial and super fresh!! We scarfed our salads down so fast, I did not grab a screen shot! We ordered a small pizza for three of us, and with salad so huge, it was fine! If you are going for the Pizza, and you are hungry, definitely order a large! I will also say inside seating is not super conducive to intimate conversation because it is a cavernous dining area and the music in the restaurant is set quite loud, and with a lot of happy people laughing and having a great time one will resort to shouting!, but they do have ample outdoor seating to enjoy if you want a quieter atmosphere!
