Ultimate Skybox at DiamondView Tower — Local services in San Diego

We recently held our wedding at the Ultimate Skybox and cannot stop raving about how great of an experience it was!

Some details: We held both our ceremony and reception at the Skybox and comfortably fit 110 people. We had the ceremony inside, then moved guests out to the balcony area for cocktail hour while the inside was flipped for the reception. We ended up with a total of 10 table plus a sweetheart table up front, plus room for a dance floor. We also had a photobooth area and an outside seating area with overhead heaters set up. I was initially worried it might feel crowded, but we had plenty of room to work with.

Booking the Ultimate Skybox was the best decision! First of all WOW the venue is spectacular. The downtown San Diego skyline was stunning. Our guests loved taking pictures on the balcony both during sunset and at night with the entire city lit up. Everyone gasped when the elevator doors opened up to a penthouse view of San Diego.

Second, the coordinators at the Ultimate Skybox were an absolute dream to work with. Amanda helped us secure our date and was so patient and understanding when we had to delay our wedding due to COVID. She responds to emails with lightning speed and was so helpful in all our logistical questions. However, the star of the show was Miranda. The Skybox assigns a day-of coordinator for weddings. Ours was Miranda and I am so, so thankful for her! She was the glue that held things together. She reached out to all our vendors and coordinated both setup and breakdown of the venue, as well as the flip from the ceremony to reception. She made sure everyone got there on time and executed our wedding timeline perfectly. At every step of the way she was there for all our small questions and made it all look effortless! Once we had our vendors all lined up, she took it from there! She made our wedding day stress free, which allowed us to actually enjoy the party. Some of our guests commented that they’d never seen a couple so relaxed. I told them it was because of Miranda!

Third, we loved the flexibility and convenience of the Skybox. It’s right in downtown San Diego and close to all the hotels. That way guests can enjoy themselves without having to worry about driving home. Additionally, the venue is already so beautiful that we didn’t actually need to budget very much for decoration and florals. Lastly, we loved the option to bring your own alcohol. This allowed us to really customize our drink menu and saved a ton of money! We curated a whiskey tasting menu, as well as signature cocktails. Our guests loved it and it helped us really personalize our wedding.

We had such a fantastic experience working with the Ultimate Skybox for our wedding. Cannot recommend it...

This venue is breathtaking! The views from every single angle are incomparable. My first time at the Skybox was in November 2018 for my besties wedding. I was a bridesmaid. She and her now husband looked at several other venues but when they found this one they were obviously sold. It wasn’t just the views, the skybox has a plethora of vendors and caterers already familiar with their space. They met with caterers and florists and were able to make their selections. The tables and chairs were handled by the venue which made that easier. They chose a sunset ceremony which was absolutely beautiful! Standing there supporting my friends in their nuptials with the sights and sounds was pretty euphoric. (Note: you are very high up so it can be extremely windy and chilly. Come prepared.) The on-site event planners also part of the venue were excellent and on-point. They kept us on time and prepared for each stage of the ceremony and reception. They were there but not in the way and helpful when we needed. It was perfect! The wedding party was escorted to a green room after the ceremony to wait for the venue to be changed over for the reception and for introductions. They brought us snacks and water or other libations while we waited. Once the bride and groom were announced the food service began. They chose multiple stations of things so guests could get what they wanted. That’s always my preference too as a person who likes to graze. The food and dessert (churros and a sundae bar…the couple didn’t want an overpriced cake that would barely get eaten) were delicious. The entire evening was an absolute dream! This is THE GREATEST WEDDING VENUE in San Diego! My husband and I were planning our wedding from NYC, and I never thought planning a wedding could go so smoothly! Firstly, the wedding venue itself is unique and gorgeous. You have a beautiful view of the bay, downtown, and the ballpark. We had our wedding at sunset, and the views were breathtaking. We had about 100 guests with a non-traditional moving style reception, and it was SO MUCH FUN! Guests loved the non-traditional set up, and we couldn't hear enough positive things about the venue! We used multiple vendors recommended by the venue, and every single one of them were absolutely fantastic!

Secondly, Chauncey from Creative Affairs is AMAZING! My husband and I were hesitant about hiring a wedding planning, but it is required through the venue and let me tell you - it was 110% worth it! Planning a wedding is not easy - especially across the country. Chauncey lead the charge, helping us contact vendors, work on our floor plan, and everything else that goes into planning a wedding. Not only did she do everything behind the scenes leading up to the big day, but she also made sure everything on our wedding day went smoothly! She kept us on schedule, and reminded us to take everything in and enjoy our day!
