Asian Box — Restaurant in San Francisco

THE FOOD IS SO GOOD! I have a gluten and dairy allergy. I ordered the Bahn Mi, The Miss Jones, and Shrimp Spring Rolls.

Originally they thought the Bahn Mi bread had butter in it, and they called to let me know. But they figured out it actually didn’t, and called me again to assure me that I actually COULD eat it. No dairy or gluten. Not only was their communication GREAT but, no joke, the Bahn Mi is the best sandwich I’ve had in my ENTIRE LIFE! Just, wow. The bread was crusty like no other gluten free bread I’ve had before, and the meat with the cilantro and pickled veggies - such a great combo.

I was hungry when I ordered, so I got a bit too much food for one meal. Although I didn’t eat it all, the few bites I had of The Miss Jones were very yummy. I am really excited to have that for lunch tomorrow (or maybe a late dinner 😁).

The spring rolls were essentially like every other spring roll I’ve eaten before, BUT the PEANUT SAUCE! So creamy, peanut-y, tangy, and with a mild hint of spice at the end. I made sure to get every last drop out of the container. Delicious.

Anyways. I don’t normally leave reviews, but the food from Asian Box was just too good not to. I am only in San Francisco for the day, and I am very sad to hear there aren’t any San Diego locations. If you’re looking to expand elsewhere, please look into San Diego. I would probably eat...

At first: Sorry for my english, I am german. Never experienced anything like this before! Ordered two meals and drinks for about 40$. We were asked if we want to take away or eat there. We chose to eat there. 5 mins after we got the food, they told us that they are about to close. Did not understand it at first but then one of the girls started to smash the chairs on the table right beside us. We were irritated and my friend asked for a to go bag so we packed my food and left. When we were leaving the place, the girl with the chair screamed at another customer who was complaining about the situation. Extremly irritating and awkward. I finished my food outside in the cold. We worked in different food places in Germany and visited many in the world but this was new to us. Would not recommend. I usually don't write reviews, but stopping by this place while traveling in San Francisco was very disappointing to say the least. The cashier had charged me twice on accident when I asked for a receipt. Unfortunately, the bank would not let me dispute my transaction to get a refund for either one of the charges the cashier had given. When receiving my food I was let down. The food is mediocre at best and reminds me of a basic meal prep with a 16 dollar charge. I don't intend on visiting this place again.
