We almost gave up since we couldn’t find this place - but were so glad we asked the marina parking attendant to show us way. The restaurant is under the Sizzler, but you have to come through the other parking lot to get to it.
I wasn’t loving the other more touristy options near the Sheraton. We made the walk from the Sheraton and so glad to find a place filled with locals.
The server was so nice and attentive despite it being a very busy Thursday evening. Everything we ordered was amazing - the pina colada was freshly made and so delicious. The kids had the fisharrones - a box filled with chicken tenders and fried cod nuggets - I thought they might not like the combo but they left nothing but crumbs. The fish tacos were so fresh and that sauce they use on them is like crack! I had the tender, flaky fried snapper that came with the best Spanish rice I’ve ever had. Finally, we got a roll of sushi. You can see chef was busy rolling though out dinner. The sushi was fresh, tasty, and so unique. Who would’ve thought plantain flakes would be so good on sushi? We regretted not getting the sushi pizza - we had already ordered so much food - but we’ve vowed to come back the next time...
Read moreWe flew to San Juan, P.R. over the Memorial Day weekend, rented a small car and started exploring the island. We arrived during a very hot time in SJ, so we were very thirsty most of the time.
We found Pal'Agua near the water and decided to stop. It is a small cozy place with pretty turquoise decor. The ambiance is casual and friendly. There was a large marina there with many sailboats and other beautiful boats.
There was room inside to eat or sit outside for the view. We found a good table facing the marina and water and had a couple of afternoon drinks. They weren't very strong and we drank water with them. We still had a few hours to drive. Our server was very nice, and we spoke in our broken espanol to her, and she spoke in her broken ingles to us. We loved being there.
Soon, it was time to drive on, and we said our goodbyes. There was plenty of parking...
Read moreWhen we got there I went in to ask if we could seat our selves. There staff made eye contact but nobody asked if they could help. I waited then asked…sure seat your self! Ten mins later a lovely waitress took our order…drinks, appetizers and the meal. After a while my wife signaled about the dinks, no drinks. The appetizers and meal arrived and still no drinks. A different waitress brought the drinks. They had been sitting after having been made because 1/2 the ice had melted. The menu talk about mojitos being there specially. They were the worst i have had ( due to being watered down). My fish tacos tasted like over cooked tough breast of chicken. Do...
