Well, it’s a mixed bag here, but mostly negative. I went here with a friend since our usual Thai spot on Lincoln is closed Tuesdays. When we spend $50 there we have tons of left overs and feel very full after. Not here.
The luxury sports cars in the parking lot should have been a sign to expect a different class. Now $55 bucks for two people at a restaurant is probably normal, but the reality was that the meals were more like lite appetizers. Others dishes we saw others had also seemed skimpy. For what ever reason, Posh Posh somehow equates to small portions to imply high quality. Maybe it’s a greediness thing. Fact is, that after going to dinner, I walked away hungry and made food when I got home. As far as taste of food, the Lion Mushroom (chicken?) was absolutely delicious (5star) as well as the cabbage side. It was only 6 small pieces and very tiny side, but very well done. The ginger drinks were also wonderful. Unfortunately the quality of all that was grossly offset with the most mediocre (worst) coconut soup I’ve probably ever had. A taste of bland disappointment. Also, it was a rather small bowl, definitely not for sharing, though we did. It was like they weren’t even trying and didn’t even care. Then I asked for some hot sauce to improve the taste, and they had the nerve to charge extra for hot sauce. Seriously? You need to be greedy and make money off of hot sauce. Sheesh. Shame because the other stuff was great and that took from the experience. Overall, we ordered two meals with stingy portions. If you’re an average Joe looking for a tasty filling meal, don’t go here!! If you got the money to spend $50 on a person or have a rather small appetite, you might really enjoy this, just stay away from the coconut soup. Overall, it was laughable that I left rather hungry and had to cook at home after, which is a first for me.
(On a side note: Waitress was really nice and polite.) I’ll never go here...
Read moreI've never given a vegetarian restaurant a 2 star review before. I really thought I'd like it. You probably will like it yourself, if, for your night out, you want a few thimble sized vegetable spheres served on a ceramic Möbius Strip.
Honestly, I can't wait to read the musings on Yelp about this place to see what people like about their food. I must be a Philistine cause I don't get it. Is this the Thai version of Wolfgang Pucks Chinois just a mile to the south? This Asian fusion snack shop has great ambiance but the dinner plates don't even stand up to Thai Vegan restaurant on Main st.
No. Thai Vegan on Main is perfection.
May I editorialize for a moment? Oh, youd rather I didnt? Yknow what? I'm Yelp ELITE four years running. I'm going to say what I want, son! Look, Thai food is the the best food. Pad see Ew is TRILL. Thai food IS synonymous with spicy in my mind. No spice warning even appeared on their menu. Even after requesting spicy food with spicy condiments on the side they refused to bring it. Instead, a thimble of cucumber chunks in sweet vinegar found its way to the table. Remind me to bring the Sri Racha hot sauce in my purse next time I'm in town. That's what was missing.
Attitude. Its the one word that sums this place up. I'm not talking about the staff. They're incredibly professional and efficient. It's the menu that is off-putting for Thai junk food junkies like me. If you have a fancy, refined palet then flow right on into this shop. If you want Drunken Noodles with serraño chili's burning your mouth to the point you wonder if you just ate a porcupine, then move along down the yelp results list. You can find a different...
Read moreWe called ahead at 8:30 and asked if we get there at 8:45 is it still okay to eat since they close at 9. They said yes. Once we seated they said we have to order really fast so we ordered an appetizer a soup and 2 main dishes. They brought out the appetizer first then the main dishes ( they were cold) then they brought the soup after that was boiling hot. I asked them how am I supposed to eat the soup when the main dishes are on the table and if they could take it back since they rushing me to eat. They said it is not possible. It was a $10 soup and they made me pay for it. ( the quality of the soup was like baby food and not especially great and I couldn't eat the boiling soup while the main dish was getting cold on the table) The main dish pad Thai was very small. The main problem was that they should not tell customers that they are going to serve them at 8:45 if they know that at 9 pm they will want to get us to eat as fast as possible so they can go home. The manager doesn't know how to keep customers they force me to pay for a soup that they already forgot to bring out at...
