BE AWARE; good food, waiters are friendly with a smile, quick service, coffee or juice served right away, really enjoyed it breakfast; the place is pretty and cozy, but... When the time came to pay the bill, please be AWARE, keep an eye on the process at the register, the cashier won't give you a detail ticket with prices, just small ticket with the total, keep your numbers straight, she will either charge more or won't give you the discount as it should. 1st day - total was 23+tax, I was charged 27 plus change, until 10 minutes later I checked the numbers and was over charged, the correct amount to pay was 20.91, went back she refunded the money and still charged me 21,61$ and asked her, with the 15% ? And she responded, yes I do the numbers in my head... Well! It could be a mistake 2nd day - I was charged 32.64$, correct amount should have been 30.92 after taxes and 15% off offered by East Bay in, I made her check her numbers and still charged me more, in total she ripped off 2,41$, it may not sound like much, but when my sister in law checked her check found out her 15% discount was 4$ off not the 2 the cashier did, my review is for the dishonesty on her behalf, even that it doesn't sound like much money, done to every single customer throughout the day sum up, is call stealing. Please, check the prices and check when she runs up the total, specially when it comes to...

I had to walk out, the food looked absolutely disgusting. Imagine the vintage food toys children in the 90s would play with - somehow the food I was served looked just as appetizing. Not to mention that the Bay location has a very creepy atmosphere like a horror movie dollhouse and it did not help that the food matched. I eat everything but I couldn’t even bring myself to take a bite even though I was hungry.

I ordered the Chicken Salad Plate and the hard boiled egg was green all the way through the yolk - how long do you have to boil it for for it to look that way?? The chicken salad looked watery and dark. The pickles were completely mixed with the fruit. The “lettuce” was unceremoniously placed with huge chunks of tomato.

Don’t believe the food descriptions; they may sound appetizing but the reality is far from what it tells you. My partner ordered and did manage to bring themself to try their grilled cheese with “pimento and lobster,” but it maybe passed for two slices of white sandwich bread with some (not a lot!) American cheese and what looked and tasted very much like imitation lobster you get with cheap grocery store sushi. I’ve never walked out of a place before, and needless to say I...

I was so disappointed with our experience, the establishment was not clean but we had hoped maybe it was just a busy day. With that in mind we figured, a toasted cheese sandwich can't be hard and was something easy. The presentation of our meals was a bit shocking tbh. My fiancé’s sandwich was served in a small saucer. no garnish , no attempt at making it appealing. We had drinks out of big red coke cups ,which did not even match the aesthetic of the place and more importantly were not clean. I couldn't get myself to finish my meal, we paid within 30mins of arriving . The restaurant needs a clean and the kitchen and owner need to have a sit down with regard to F&B . Often an establishment thats been around for a long time might’ve lost the passion for being a restauranteur and this it what it felt like. Its been a hard year for restaurants and business owners alike and one never wants to be harsh but in giving an honest review, it helps potential diners to decide and also allow owners to improve on their service offering. We only came here because everywhere else was full and it has a 4.5 rating. The staff were friendly. Hope they go back to the drawing board and gain back why they started in the...

Had heard and read about the restaurant as the place where Jenny worked in Forrest Gump. They have moved to a different location since then, to where the restaurant is located right now. The restaurant is conveniently located on East Bay St and appears modest on the inside, with regular no frills seating. It has that kind of countryside diner vibe. It was busy when we got there and almost all the tables were occupied. So, it's popular with people. They have house daily specials for breakfast. We wanted some light breakfast. We ordered chicken n dumplings, that came with two sides. We went with fried rice and peach cobbler. We also got french onion soup. The chicken dumpling was pretty bland for my taste buds. The fried rice and the corn bread was good. The peach cobbler on the other hand tasted really good. The french onion soup was delightful. It came with a cheesy toast. And it's really popular. Some folks ordered it next to us and they were out. It's a difficult time for running a restaurant. I can't really complain too much but the silverware were dirty. Overall, I liked the place. The food here has a southern flavor but they could definitely be better. The servers were pleasant.
