The city if full of such squares which are cute little places to walk and absorb history. This was also one of the first stops with the ghost tour. So much information about hangings, ghost sightings. Owen Thomas House and salve quarter located at this square is a tour worthy place. Might be tough to find the parking. Waking here is the best option. This square as per our guide was named after founder of Georgia but one unique thing is, General Oglethrope’s statue is not located inside this square but some other square nearby.

This square is one of many, but it has some great history attached to it. It was the hanging square, where people went to socialize. The first woman hanged in Savannah was here. There are ghost stories about it. Check out the companies that do ghost tours. We did some research and they were accurate in what they shared.

It was an amazing place with so much history I now understand the meaning of "Don't let the bedbugs bite" This tree is what they used to stuff and make mattresses with ( Spanish Moss) it hangs from the trees and carries bedbugs.

One of the many squares that collectively make up the Savannah historic district. Beautiful foliage in the square with many of them featuring statues and historical writings. Would highly recommend a tour through the city to get the full historic background of the city as it is literally bursting with history being one of the oldest...
