Update: February 2024 I gave them another shot and it was just as bad if not worse. They started putting onion in their Mac salad. the chicken tasted so old and reheated ten times. I posted an updated picture of my chicken this time. I fed it to my dog. Very disappointed. I miss legit Hawaiian food so bad. I can’t imagine the owners would want to eat the chicken I received today.
September 2024 — I’m glad you guys have good reviews, but I just can’t leave one. I’ve been to several L&L’s on the west coast and this food just doesn’t taste anything like it. This food doesn’t taste anything like Hawaiian bbq. It’s not inedible but it’s not very good… I was soooo excited when I saw some comforts of home where here, and just felt so dissatisfied with each bite. Hawaiian style Mac is so simple but still packs so much flavor, this is completely missing the mark. It is just a pile of loose wet vinegary noodles. The teriyaki sauce is like water. My chicken is covered in pepper?? It just tastes like someone who has never eaten Hawaiian food is cooking. What sucks the most is that two bbq plates, a side of mac salad, and teriyaki sauce cost $70 through Uber eats. This should be hitting the mark for...
Read moreFirst of all I'm so happy that someone FINALLY brought Hawaiian food to Savannah. I used to work on the west coast a lot so I developed an affinity for it. I really wanted to love everything but there were a few issues. First of all having to pay a dollar for extra sauce is crazy. Usually the restaurants have a squeeze bottle of it on every table and at the to go counter. It should be complimentary with the rice dishes as they are served without any sauce. The sauce is very good and you need it on the rice (unless you are ok with eating plain rice). Second, no siracha here. Every Hawaiian food fan knows you gotta have siracha on that mac salad. Mac salad was just ok, need to lighten up on the mayonnaise. The bbq chicken was cooked and flavored perfect and my kids loved it. They kept it real with the sushi rice too. The kalua pork was way overly salted...like inedible. This is why I put 3 stars instead of 4. Finally, the raw green cabbage on the plate. I recommend cooking it a little bit as raw green cabbage has a sulfuric flavor. Overall, it quenched my craving for Hawaiian food and I would get the bbq...
Read moreBeing from Hawaii, and being Hawaiian… I know Hawaiian food. This place is so good. Reminds me of Home. We haven’t had any Hawaiian food since we left in 2018, this was a great experience. I love this place and everyone is so friendly. We are blessed with the very first L & L barbecue in Savannah And Georgia for that matter. The servings are generous, and it’s very flavorful. If you’re Hawaiian and looking for a taste of home, this is the place to go. Angel, the manager, is awesome!
Our L & L experience was like the deep breath you take when you’re all stressed after a hard day at work, with a cold one in your hand chillin’ in the lounge chair on the back porch. It’s eatin’ comfort food with your family on a Sunday afternoon, even though it’s Thursday. Lol
I just want to say… Angel thank you and your staff for the tasty food and great experience. Look into the “Poi”, that’s the only thing that could’ve made our dinner any better. I wish you the best of luck with your franchise, and look forward to visiting again soon. You have a new set...
