Want to experience the best western food cooked the Japanese style? Come to Miyabi's of Savannah. When I went there, I was greeted by their hostesses and I felt like home. I sat down, I could hear music playing softly and the sound of the fountain water fall dripping, and I looked up, they had a very high ceilig painted in blue and white like looking up in the sky. It was an environment I never experienced before. So different and inviting. Sitting in the lobby I could already smell the food cooking and could hear people laughing and having good time in the dining area. They had lots of customers waiting in line, but it did not take long for me and my party to be called to be seated. In the dining area, it the air was filled with the smell of the food cooking. Our table was greeted by a friendly server and took our orders without any wait. They served a fresh salad and fresh salad sauces I ever tasted before. I little while later after eating my fresh tasty salad and appetizers, the chef for our table came in smiling and gave us a friendly greeting. Everyone at the table felt just like home. The chef started cooking and talking to us at the table at the same time, and it felt totally different. The chef cooked the food perfectly. I had the chance to eat fried rice the Japanese way. I had the largest proportion I ever had in my entire life. What an experience. Anybody out there who would like to try western food cooked the Japanese way, this is where you should be. You should come to Miyabi Savannah and experience it yourself. I could also order sushi from my table. I have never seen sushi's so huge in my life, it worth the price. The sushi tastes so good, it really blew me away. I loved the food, and loved also their fire show and other two shows the chefs does at the table. He was throwing his long fork and spatulla around and throwing shrimp tails and catching it with a bowl. What a show! It was great. I really enjoyed my time and I will definitly come back again to Miyabi's of Savannah to eat. With the friendly service and experience chefs and fresh tasty sushi and the food they cooked, I deserve an A+. Way to go Miyabi....
Read moreOverall the experience was ok and felt very rushed. When going to hibachi I expect for it to be an experience (food cooked with flair and having fun) not just a regular outing to a restaurant. I've been to hibachi before and know that it isn't a place that you can linger because they need the grill, but it still felt very rushed! Our child requested this place for her birthday, so we called ahead several days prior to make a reservation. Once there we were escorted to our table within a few minutes. After we sat down, things started to move rather quickly, to the point we didn't get to fully download the menu since they didn't have hardcopies. While seated, they asked if we were celebrating anything and we told them her birthday, then the server took our orders very quickly. The salad and soup came out shortly thereafter. However, before we could finish the soup and before the server asked, she took the soup when we weren't looking. Our chef was nice and entertaining. He respected the food allergies. At the end of the service, they didn't come over to do the birthday celebration like they did at another table, so I asked if they were going to do it for my child and the server said 'you'll have to pay for it, that's why I normally don't mention it'. We didn't mind paying but was a little annoyed that we had to ask about it. I was confused as to why ask us about a celebration of you aren't going to acknowledge it. Most places will sing a customary song or something. And again, we didn't mind paying for it, but the entire situation was off-putting and disappointing. After we left and had a chance to look over the menu, we noticed the 'celebration choices'. So since we felt rushed from the time we sat down until the end, and the overall service, we will likely not return...
Read moreI've gone here on a couple of occassions and each time I hope that it's better. On average, I'm on the over tipping side as oppose to under tipping. The first time my husband and I visit it was pleasant. I didn't care for the couple who were loud and obnoxious and (yes really) picked shrimp off my plate but the place itself was decent. Our next couple of times we went we took our family. Granted we have a larger family (5 kids and us would make 7) and I don't know where to begin with my complaints! First, we waited 18 minutes for a drink order, then another 10 minutes for our drinks. The waiter seemed apologetic so we stuck around. However, everyone who had the same waiter seemed more than satisfied with their service so I can only conclude that we were stereotyped. (Large family bad tippers). I mentioned how poor the service was to the chef. 1/2 of my kids were asleep at this point. I then made the complaint to the owner. This got slightly better. My son wants to have his 16th birthday dinner there. SIGHS. I'm going to get him there early so hopefully we can eat by 9! The conversation among the employees were highly innapropriate especially with children around and the use of language among one another only showed the lack of professionalism. Will we go again, unfortunately yes, because my kids like the place for a family outing. Will I ever go on my own, company function, catering or with my husband on a date? ...
