It is a truth universally acknowledged in the gastronomical world that it's the quaint, unassuming "hole in the wall" eateries with a long line of patrons out front that usually have some of the best food that you will ever put in your mouth. Randy's BBQ is certainly no exception! Located in a humble blue and white building on Wheaton St., there are no tables or seating and more often than not, a line stretching down the sidewalk. You walk up, someone will lean out of the door and ask you your order, then you walk up to the window, pay and pick up your food to go. It's worth noting that Randy's is a cash-only establishment but they do have an ATM on-site. I decided to go small and ordered a $5 rib plate (yes, they actually have $5 rib plates!) to get a glimpse of what the fuss is about. My order was loaded with 4 meaty and tender smoked ribs and two thick slices of bread. The orange barbecue sauce was divine, with a slight undertone of mustard perhaps. It was different but after a bite or two, I was hooked! The ribs were smoky, saucy perfection. They do not have a large selection of foods to choose from: just chicken, ribs and crab but it is another truth acknowledged that if you're only going to serve 2 or 3 items on your menu, then you'd better cook them right... and Randy's cooks them right! If visiting, be sure to get there early as they often sell out and close down before mid-afternoon. Randy's also offers chicken, crab, and cake and make no mistake, I will be back soon to try everything else they have to offer!

I really wanted to give a better review but the customer service is almost non-existent. First off Randy's bbq business is never on time. I order one slab and a half of ribs I got what looks like chop of prices of nuggets and they want you to believe they are given you your money's worth. I will never ever take an hour of my day to stand in-line fanning flies just to get chopped up rib nuggets that cost me $30 Now dont get me wrong $30 for a slab and a half of ribs is not a bad price if a pound and a half is what they are actually given you but they are cheating you by chopping of your ribs in bite size nuggets to give you the impression of a slab and half next time ill visit Jimmy 'n" Nick's atleast I get the whole slab and a half and not Chopped up pieces of nuggets. Very very disappointing. I took a picture of this messed they served me.

I ordered the 5 piece chicken for $5 and Deviled Crab for $3. For $8 I easily got 2 meals for myself and it was so delicious. It’s no wonder why the deviled crabs run out so fast, they are amazing. Like others have said the line is a bit slow, but for CHEAP and delicious bbq, I’ll take it. Also, they do advertise that they can take card, but it seems like their card machine is down a lot, so always bring cash just in case. Also, parking can be tight unless you get there before they open, but I was told people just park at DCF across the street if it’s packed. The entire staff was super friendly, and I hope for nothing but the best for all of them.
