Over half of my review had to be deleted because of the character limit. Living here has been disappointing at best, and downright dangerous at times. Starting out, we were told we had to move in at a certain date or else we would forfeit our promo. We tried to request a different date, management refused. Two days before our lease started the building had not passed inspection. The next day we were told the unit was ready and our lease would start. We moved with an 18hr notice. Upon arriving with our belongings our apt was clearly not finished. When bringing up the issues below, Destiny said we shouldn't have moved in if the apartment wasn’t ready. She claimed she emailed me and told me on the phone we could have moved in later, saying she records all her phone calls. When asked for them, she could not find the email or recording. For weeks people kept entering the unit unannounced, without knocking, then see us and quickly exit in a panic. Management explained that it was the construction crew and they “had to yell at them on multiple occasions for going into unfinished units and just screwing around.” After asking why they were entering if our unit was “finished” management had no answer. Issues we have/had with the unit: 1. During the initial walk through I had to pick up trash, sweep, mop, and clean bugs out of the microwave. 2. The patio doors weren’t on the frame properly and were duct taped for almost 2 weeks before it was fixed. 3. Smoke alarms were covered and not operational for about a month. 4. Our floors are covered with paint, glue, and beat up from construction. There is a large stain approximately 4x2ft in the middle of the floor. 5. Door frames and floor boards are beat up, chipped, cracked and covered in scuff marks as if someone played hockey in our apt. There are nails sticking out of a door frame that were painted around. 6. Cabinets and counters as above 7. Some window frames have nails sticking out of them and are not installed properly. 8. Our dishwasher leaks and management says, “is just collecting humidity and condensation” requiring us to keep towels underneath it and change them routinely. 9. The washer and dryer are tiny. They cannot hold queen sized blankets. When addressed, Destiny said, “everyone complains about the washer and dryer.” Each load requires 2-3 dryer cycles. Side note, you actually have to pay rent for these washer and dryer units. For reference, I can get 1 towel, 1 pair of work clothes, 1 pair of casual clothes, and 1 pair of gym clothes in the washer and it is tight. When I dry that same load, the towel is still wet. 10. The bathrooms were dirty and the showers were covered in grout dust and drywall dust. I had to sweep the shower out before cleaning it due to the construction debris. 11. The windows leak during storms so bad I have to set an alarm to periodically empty the bucket throughout the night. Issues with the property in general: 1. Not all doors to the building had working locks, management was aware but did not make an announcement to keep residents informed. At one point there was a homeless person living in the common space for days. 2. The pool is not maintained and is frequently dirty and grows algae. Recently you could see the footprints in the algae. Pool lights are not installed properly and are floating in the pool by their power cords. 3. During heavy rain the stairwells, lower parking garage, and storage rooms flood so bad they have to pump the water out. 4. Street parking floods during rain making it unusable. Half the garage floods and spaces are $125/mo. 5. The gym is still not finished, a significant amount of equipment is just lying on the floor. For months there was trash in the gym from construction. 6. The water fountain at the gym was not hooked up (fixed). 7. Common spaces lack wifi and the reception around the building is terrible, at least with Verizon. 8. The grills and fire pits are not set up. 9. The event and common space on the fifth floor is still not completed. 10. There are nails on the stairs from construction.

Update...36 days and counting. I still have a moldy ceiling. The response of the maintenance team is incredibly poor. There is a roof leak in my apartment. Water runs down the wall near an electrical outlet and the ceiling has black mold. I logged a work order two weeks ago, made two in person trips to the front desk, and sent three emails. I have not received ANY communication from them. I'm in the process of logging complaints with code enforcement and the health department. This is beyond ridiculous... 22 days and counting...nothing done

It is imperative to be cautious when selecting The Line Apartments and their Rental Agency. Their application process can be lengthy, resulting in repeated requests for additional information. This can potentially lead to your $900 deposit being placed with them outside of their 72-hour window. This could potentially result in a financial loss for you and has for me. The application process is worst than getting a mortage. My last mortgage was easier than their process. It is no surprise that the building is half vacant after a year of operation.

I feel like I live in a college dorm.

Multiple issues with loud tenants.

For the third time tonight I have been woken up by the fire alarms going off. The fire alarms go off constantly around here. It happens once a week at least.

I have noticed the same trash and debris in the hallways and gym since moving in several months ago. I am unsure sure if there is a cleaning crew or if they just don't clean the common spaces. I notice others have commented on this as well and I wondered if the property would get cleaned up but it hasn't been.

Multiple shootings with people wounded have occurred across the street in the last month. I don't blame the property for that, but anyone looking for a place to live should be aware.

I would not recommend moving here. It just isn't worth the cost. I have lived in 12 different apartments. What I can tell you is this place looks nice when you stand back and look at it. But if you stop and take time to look at the space up close it isn't as nice as it seems. The building is new and has many issues, not just cosmetic, but functional and practical issues.

I expect a generic response like the other negative reviews saying something along the lines of, "please reach out to us so we can help" but I have reached out, multiple times, to multiple managers. I am halfway through my lease and have expressed multiple concerns about state of the apartment and the property itself with multiple managers and have not had the issues fixed. We did receive a compensation which was nice, but the issues haven't been addressed, so I'm not sure if the plan is to fix the issues or continue to compensate us? I would be willing to live with all the issues at a lower rent, but not at this cost. You expect to pay for amenities, but we have been paying for amenities that are incomplete or were advertised but nonexistent at this point in construction, which is again, several months...

My husband and I moved her as empty nesters thinking it was going to be break from all the maintenance of owning a home, oh how wrong we were. The team initially seemed helpful while we were moving in and signing the lease, and choosing or new home. Weeks after moving in the garage door that we pay for monthly was broken. This was 4 months ago at this time, it still has not been repaired. Following that the elevators began to go on the frizz. At first there was just one elevator malfunctioning at a time but soon one completely stopped working for several days. A week later which was easter both main elevator stopped working completely . By the Friday night the third elevator stopped working as well. So there were literally no woking elevators in the building 3 days. Nextly, You should also know that if you have packages or deliveries you are very unlikely to receive them. Amazon packaged are never logged into a joke of Luxor system that expires in 2 days and then charges you, or if you're lucky you get a code. If you are less lucky like I was the two managers in the lobby will also refuse to be helpful. Neither of these women offer to assist me, instead offered to give be direction via the Luxor package system, just to be clear the mailroom can be opened by them and the space is maybe 25 feet away. I couldn't help but think how lazy could these women be, well I was surprised but not really Furthermore, I think some one mentioned the poor overall construction of the facility. Truly disappoint workmanship and material are VERY cost effective. There is so more but this seems like a enough to help you steer clear of...
