Brought a group of 6 or 7 co-workers up Tuesday, 5/21/24. When we were ordering at the counter we were told the system for payments was down, but they would still take our order and we could pay once we were leaving. We thought nothing of this, sounded like a little blip in the process, no big deal. We received our food, sat down, enjoyed everything. When we were leaving, we went back up to the counter to pay. The employee at the register said the system was still down and we could either pay in cash or write our credit card information down and they would charge us once their system was up and running. All of us objected, except one person in our group who had cash. While trying to explain how we would not feel comfortable leaving our credit card information written down, a little male employee shouted how inappropriate we were being for not wanting to leave our written credit card information with them, and that it was ridiculous of us to think the employees would steal this information. This set most of us off- who in their right mind would write down their credit card information and just leave it somewhere randomly? Three of us left while the little guy kept yelling at us. I am all about Capriotti's- typically I dine with the location in N Scottsdale, but have been to this location a few times since our office relocated up the street. The food is consistently superior to any other sandwich shop. This whole ordeal could have been avoided if a sign had been posted stating "cash only" or we were even told before we ordered it was cash only (I would have been happy to run and get some cash from an ATM), but to have an employee ask a group of people to write their credit card information down and just leave it- that's unacceptable, or, as the little rude guy yelled at us- inappropriate. Ironically, an Underwriter in our Cyber Crimes unit was with us, and I'm in accounting- so there's no way in hell I'm going to leave my credit card information written down somewhere for anyone to have access to. Again, want to stress the food at Capriotti's is VERY good- it's a shame this whole thing got blown out of hand by the little short dude working behind the counter. Not sure if he was having a bad day or what, but yelling at customers is not how you resolve an issue. I would have been happy to leave my information for someone to call me once the system was back up and return to the store to pay. Unfortunately, as the little angry man behind the counter shouted at us- we are not welcome back, nor would we want to come back with such an ignorant little man...
Read moreI came in for the Bobbi and the classic turkey to take back to North Carolina. I clearly explained that I would not be eating them until later, so please put the mayonnaise on the side for the classic and the cranberry sauce on the side for the Bobbi . Unfortunately, the cashier did not seem to understand what I was requesting and did not express any concern. I verbally checked with the guy making the hoagies to see if he understood that I wanted it to go bread, wax paper, the fixings of the hoagies, wax paper wrapped up in aluminum foil with the mayonnaise and the cranberry sauce on the side. He said yes, that's how he made him and I clearly could tell that that was not true. So I took the sandwiches outside, opened them and they were not made the way that I requested them. As someone who grew up in Wilmington, Delaware and ate these hoagies often, as well as traveled to different states with them often, I was extremely disappointed in the whole process. I specifically traveled from Scottsdale to old town with a $32 one-way Uber to pick the sandwiches up because of all the Capriotti's in this area that one had the best reviews. Knowing there's one only 8 miles from my hotel, but that one had horrible reviews. But again, they were obligated to remake the sandwiches, and the remake were worse than the originals. The cheese was in a single separate container for the classic, and there was no cranberry sauce and mayonnaise in the bag for the reduce. And they were very angry that I was a customer asking for a special request and that they couldn't Understand the request so yet they made me feel bad for requesting it. This was by far the most expensive sandwiches that were so wrong that I ended up giving them to my Uber driver who would never had one. So his experience is going to be favorable because he doesn't know any different. I believe this is an honest and warranted review and I would appreciate the manager and or somebody from corporate headquarters in Nevada to give me a call. It's all about the training!!! Training! Training!!!your concept is still amazing!!! Pay attention to your franchise owners and what they are doing. Total cost for 2 hoagies . 110.00 - Uber round trip. And...
Read moreI tried the homemade turkey sandwich and the Cole turkey sub sandwich. Both were very good. They use real turkey and good bread. I also tried two salads and both were HORRIBLE. The menu says that the salads are made with "mixed greens". But when I picked them up, it was made with yellow and white iceberg lettuce. I asked why it wasn't mix greens and the worker said it was made with mixed greens. I said I wanted a refund and one of the two workers looked at me and just walked away. The other worker said they couldn't do that but could make something else. I didn't want anything else. She looked around and found a container full of real mixed greens and I said that is exactly what I wanted. She looked at me and said that is the same what she gave me. I said no that is totally different. I had to ask if she would use the mixed greens instead. She said she would fix it. After I opened the "fixed" salads, I saw that she only put a few mixed greens on top of the old yellow iceberg lettuce.. total fraud. I contacted the headquarters for the company and I have not heard anything back from them. Bottom line, don't order anything here except the turkey sandwiches. And the service is...
