i-MAD — Restaurant in Scottsdale

I'm Lebanese Canadian from Vancouver, Canada. I visited this hookah lounge during my first visit to Arizona, in 2017, and loved it. I just w arrived back again tonight for my second visit to Arizona and this was the first place I needed to go to because of how much I enjoyed it last time. I'm happy to say it was just as enjoyable as I remembered,and the renovations look amazing!

So it's official, this is my go to hookah place every time I visit Scottsdale.

I-Mad has something for everyone, a bar and dance floor downstairs, great music, many indoor and outdoor tables, tv's for entertainment/sports, a kitchen, and hookah! You can dance, stand, sit, eat, drink, smoke, have a conversation, watch the game, or people watch. Great atmosphere, kind staff, and an amazing host. If you haven't been yet, definitely check out this one of a kind place. There's a reason it's the top rated hookah place around.

I ordered the grape mint as I usually do, and they did it perfectly.

We came in two weeks ago, expecting a fun, relaxing night, but instead we were met with one of the rudest staff interactions we’ve ever experienced. Daniella the cocktail waitress, treated us like we were beneath her from the moment we sat down. Her attitude was dismissive, condescending, and downright insulting. She spoke to us like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers, and the arrogance she displayed made it seem like she thought she was smarter and better than everyone around her.

We weren’t rude, we weren’t demanding, we were just trying to enjoy a night out. But Daniella’s behavior made us (and others nearby) feel extremely uncomfortable. If this is the kind of staff this place chooses to represent them, it says a lot about their standards. Definitely wouldn’t return unless things change.

Ordered a hookah some drinks and some food. The chicken on my salad was dry. Our original waitress was awesome at first. Then we started to have to ask another tables servers for food menus and another round of drinks. We stayed about 2 hours is and when the check arrived they had already added on a 20% tip to the bill and it was charged to my card before they even said anything about there being a 20% tip added. I get it’s Scottsdale but adding a 20% tip to the bill when our waitress wasn’t the one bringing us anything besides the hookah, a bottle of water, the check and charging the tip to my card so it couldn’t be reversed. She really didn’t even deserve a tip at all with how limitless she did and how many times we had to ask another server to get drinks or food is ridiculous. Definitely will not return...
