This review solely reflects the security of this establishment and not anything related to the food or other service. When trying to get a table for the second half of the 2024 Super Bowl, I was incredibly rudely and in an unprecedentedly unprofessional manner by the restaurant’s security out front “we don’t want your business here. get lost” among a plethora of other ways of saying the same when my group and I asked if we could talk to a host or hostess about a wait for a tables. When I asked to speak to the manager, he said “I am the manager, the security manager, and I’m telling you we don’t want your business here, just keep walking”. When I went around to the side door in an effort to try to get in touch with a restaurant manager, I was met by the same man saying the same things. I can’t believe this business would hire someone like that who talks to customers who want to give them their business when they have many other local options in such a manner. Two days later I called the general manager of the business who apologized and did not excuse the behavior while also stating the possible reason for this slip up to be having just experienced the crowds of the WM Open all weekend and all the staff were stressed out from it. As someone with friends and family in the service industry, i understand this but also cannot accept that under any circumstance the things that were said to us were in any way shape or form an acceptable way to speak to customers. Not to mention the security man stood up from his chair in front of me and in my face for no reason other than to intimidate us away. I feel we did not warrant this altercation by any means—all i had requested was to speak to a hostess about a wait time for a table. I understood that the restaurant was full but when restaurants are full there is still a way to wait for a table which we were willing to do. The security man was so incredibly rude I was left in disbelief. Again, this review is not meant to reflect the establishment as a whole, over the phone the general manager was apologetic and hospitable, but it really should offer the right training to the security agent on how to professionally speak to customers as it seems the individual wanted to go on a power trip. I would hope Loco Patron would think twice about how the public is met at the door as the first point of contact and impression of...
Read moreSlightly unfair review warning as we never got to try the food which is why we came. But the server outside last night has no business working in the service industry. For context, all tables are seat yourself as long as they are cleared. Our group arrived and looked for a spot on the patio. The three open tables were all dirty, naturally we hit the bar to order a round in anticipation of snagging a table and enjoying dinner and drinks. After we had ordered at the bar a server came over and told us she just cleared our table and that we “can’t order drinks at the bar since she already cleared that table”…. I naturally suggested we just transfer the bill to the table but apparently neither the bartender or the server with happy with that idea. I asked the bartender what he wants to do, and he said it’s would be better to just settle the tab with him after asking “if I’ve ever been to a bar before”. And like everyone, yes we have. And if you know the service industry it’s common practice for servers to tip out bartenders, hosts, and support staff at the end of the night. We’re talking a tip of maybe $8 for drinks that’s causing some friction here. Off to be a bad start with the attitude from this waitress and a bartender that needs to reconsider his people skills. Fast forward, we sit down with our drinks party of six ready for dinner. Waitress goes to the table to our left, table to our right and after five minutes came over. Hard to describe someone’s attitude and tone but it was clear she wasn’t happy. She asked if we wanted to order food, which we did. Again, this was a rude, I’m annoyed tone. We asked for waters and after I she chose to roll her eyes and walk away we immediately said let’s bounce. Why would any establishment employ people like this in the service industry? Generally failures like this are reflective of bad managers and GMs. I don’t fault the bartender or server as some people are just not built for the service industry and have never had a leader help them realize their personalities don’t reflect the responsibility associated with serving people. Should management read this, you probably know exactly who this server is and who the bartender is. Act with intention, as I’m sure I’m definitely not the only one you’ll never see...
Read moreThis was my second visit to Loco Patron with my coworkers, and the reason why I am giving three stars is as follows as I would love to have given five.
The first time while dining here, I ordered the fish dinner and although golden brown, the fish lacked flavor and I should have taken a clue that never order fish from a restaurant that specializes in Mexican dishes.
My second visit again with co-workers (one of our satellites offices in the area) was the food was spot on delicious! I ordered the enchilada plate and it was hot, fresh and superbly flavorful. My only complaint was the crumbly white cheese which was pungent and smelled funny. I scraped it off as I was unsure exactly what it was and it did not ruin my dining experience.
However what did ruin not just mines but my co-workers as well as they had the door to the restaurant wide-open and we had to keep our coats on. It was breezy and very cold, and that is what should have given the restaurant a clue is be considerate of your patrons!
Then the waitress who took our order with a party of five spoke over us when taking our order as opposed to directly to us (didn't come to each of us individually and one of us was hard of hearing) and this was very annoying and very noticeable. We still gave her a great tip because her service other than that was great.
Loco Patron is a favorite of said co-workers and considering it was my second time there with the team, they found themselves apologizing to me and another team member who is a new employee which prompted our team outing.
They were all saddened and informed us that this is not the experience we expected. All things considered I will give Loco Patron another try eventually because the food is that good with the exception of the fish.
Management please be considerate when it is 51 degrees outside and dining in your restaurant as well that we would like to have removed our jackets so that we can truly enjoy all Loco Patron...
