I am really disappointed in this place. I have visited Wine Girl a few times. The first two times, I had no issues. My visit last night was another story! The atmosphere is eye catching and appealing to Women. However, at this point, thatās all it has! There were 4 of us in my party. We first sat down at a couch area. I felt my Flip-flop slide across the floor, and saw a large shard of broken glass stuck to the bottom of my Flip-flop. I quickly realized there were tiny pieces of broken glass all over the floor around the table and Couch. While three of us moved to another table, my friends Husband went to order two glasses of Wine. He is a Wine and Spirits Distributor, he knows his stuff. As the Bartender was pouring his Wifeās Wine, he noticed there Keg was squirting out the Wine, not a pour! He politely asked if he could get a fresh pour, as he could tell it was the end of the Keg. The Bartender argued with him, that it was fine and she should try it first. So, upon receiving it at our table, she did. She could taste that it was in fact not what it should taste like. She took it up to the bar and asked for a fresh glass. Again the Bartender argued with her, and said, āNo one else has complainedā. My friend ended up walking away because she was not going to give her a fresh glass. It was then the Bartender said, āWe can give you something elseā. We were going to leave altogether except her Husband had already paid for their Wine, and had a full glass of his own to drink. The Bartender walked over a few mins later and so rudely said, āOkay, so just to make sure, we opened a new Keg and poured a new one for youā. My friend took a sip and right away said, āThis tastes exactly like this shouldā. The Bartender smuggly smiles and hands crossed, said, āWell donāt worry, itās on Meā. To be honest, this place has so much potential and it has the right idea. However, it has gone way down hill! The Wine was never that great and highly overpriced. The interior of this place is filthy. After the way my friend was treated, we will not be going back! There are far more Wine tasting experiences around Old Town with much cleaner atmospheres and friendlier staff. The Wines are worth the price and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Wine Girl with every intention of giving this business 5 stars but it wasn't good experience for the cost.
First the good -This place is ADORABLE. You want to bring all your friends here and celebrate something special. It's really cute. -Food is good, simple but fun. Perfect for drinking wine. -Wine selection is good for this location and no complaints. The merch was fun.
The Bad, The Service is HORRIBLE. The server we had legit rolled her eyes and huffed when we asked her for wine glasses for our wine. The table next to use asked for plates for their food and she walked away in a huff. We ordered three flights we split them and she put them on the table and didn't tell us which was which. She did abandon us at some point and the other bartenders took over and they did a good job. They were super stretched as it was a Friday night. There is a minimum ( which is fine) but they didn't tell us about the minimum at any point on their website, their phone call with me or when we arrived. There is an automatic gratuity for parties of 6 or more . Once again, this is okay we were a party of 5 and they charged us $93 for a tip for horrible service. Not okay. -An out of town friend called that day to send a bottle of bubbly to our table as a gift for my Mother in Law ( it was her 59th birthday that we were celebrating) they not only charged her, added 20% tip but they NEVER delivered it to us. If this is something you can't handle you just need to accept that and not allow people to do this. They added a tip for buying merchandise.
All in all, if you are in the area on a quiet weekday afternoon with low expectations, it might not be a bad experience. But don't rally your friends here for a party because you'll likely be disappointed like we were.
The novelty of WineGirl will wear off if the foundation of good costumer service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe atmosphere was cute but when our party of 7 arrived for our reservation, nobody greeted us. There were only two ladies at a smaller table and one person behind the bar. They have a chalkboard outside that says Welcome Brides and the names of what Iām assuming are that dayās bridal parties coming in. They did not list the bride from our party. No biggie, but we thought it was a big miss since they wrote her name down on a tag for a table inside. We found the tag of our brideās name at a table and assumed that was for us since nobody was going to direct us. The table āreservedā for us was at this coffee table that would not hold our drinks and the food we wanted to order as it was way too small for 7 adults. The table was filled with just our water cups and personal items like purses, sunglasses, etc. There was an empty bigger booth corner table and we asked to move there and the bartender said we could. We waited a while for our orders to be taken, I donāt know how long because we were one of two groups in the restaurant; I didnāt think it would take as long as it did. Our group had 7 people, the other group were 2 people. We werenāt given individual plates for shared food items and only given 2 napkins each. We had to ask for plates. Which came about 15 minutes after we asked for them. Toasts were super hard and charcuterie board was extremely overpriced for what we got. Margarita pizza did not look appetizing and I didnāt try it but the presentation was not appealing. The food and service were very underwhelming. Cute place but food and service need to be stepped up 100% if youāre requiring reserved parties to spend $280+! Lavender mimosa is good but not enough for me to recommend this...
