I appreciate Porter's a lot. But the little things make all the difference. I like the atmosphere. It's a unique setting. One of the bartenders is really nice, always pleasant and seems like a great guy. The owner is usually present and always smiling and friendly with customers. It's a good place, and typically the service there is excellent. Unfortunately I was in there for the first time in awhile this past Saturday, and had a bad experience with a newer bartender I hadn't seen before. She was rude and dismissive to the point where I told the other bartender, I won't be back, at least not anytime soon. I don't share this to rip Porter's. People make their livelihood there and I wish them the best. And I'm disappointed because I really enjoy going there. But the treatment by one bartender towards me after a brief accident and an apology is not something I can't look past. Customer experience is massive. How we treat others, is very important. What is more important than that? I can't think of anything. In a world where phones and screens and AI dominate, people go to places like Porters to connect with others and to feel good. The service industry is very hard and anyone can have a bad day. I always appreciate and thank people in food & bev, and in retail. They have very hard jobs. Read moreNice little western saloon, loved the atmosphere. Our server/bartender was very nice. I gave only three stars because I asked how her Old Fashioned was and she said good so I ordered a Knob Creek old fashioned . The issue is she had used vermouth (Not in an old fashioned)! She came by and asked how it was and I politely asked if she had used vermouth to which she replied "Yes, I used sweet vermouth". I told her "that would be more like a Manhattan" depending on whatever else she put in there but she insisted that it was an Old Fashioned. It probably won't stop me from going back but I will most likely order a beer next time...
P.S. Please learn and master your classic...

The Post is more of a whiskey bar, specializing in rarer seen cocktails.
Cool place. Above all the noise from downstairs, while still maintaining some ambiance. Very relaxed. Almost secretive, and the sign advertising this place isn't all that large. It's a sidewalk sign behind Porters' security.
Once you upstairs via the exterior staircase it's starkly different.
The bartender was even able to make a boulevardier, which not many places have the ingredients for, or don't know...
