The food was solid and the service at Sexy Roman was fantastic and above and beyond from Paul.
Paul was one of the best waiters we have ever had. He was able to explain the dishes with such extensive detail and knowledge you would swear he created it. He also did a great job with both suggestions and recommendations for pairings and main courses. Paul was also very attentive to our pacing and had dishes come out at effective and appropriate timings.
The food was solid but a little on the high end in terms of price for what you are receiving and not as high end in terms of quality. I will explain each portion of the meal in detail.
The pre meal crackers paired with the dip were acceptable but not extraordinary in terms of flavor. The execution of the presentation was great. I think less mess flat crackers or a lighter bread to pair with one of the crackers would pair better. Since it was two dry crackers paired together.
The artichoke bruschetta was good but very poorly advertised (on the menu not from Paul) the artichoke flavor was almost non existent and the spice and pickled flavors were very overpowering making this not feel or seem like an artichoke bruschetta.
The essentially fried Parmesan sticks is a nice attempt at a more "uplifted" Parmesan sticks but kind of fails on executing on the idea. The cheese is very dry and stiff on the inside since they are using an aged Parmesan. I think finding some way to achieve the "cheesy" pull that Parmesan sticks can have with a higher level of cheese could be possible to achieve with a different cheese or approach.
The bucatini pasta was one of the better food dishes. The sauce had a rich and creamy tone with an incredibly pronounced pepper flavor after taste. The portion size of the pasta was a little disappointing considering it was $29, I think increasing the portion size 10-20% would make the dish one of the best.
Both desserts were fantastic! The tiramisu was incredible! Most tiramisus fail to nail the coffee + chocolate flavor and tend to lean top hard towards sweet/chocolate but this tiramisu has a very present and satisfying coffee flavor. The sliced cake was also very rich and delicious.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic! No complaints and the clear and concise uniforms for the staff help signal who has what duty and role.
Overall the food is a 4/5 Atmosphere is a 5/5 And service from Paul was a 6/5 (above perfection) so I could not give under 5 stars due to Paul's...
Read moreMy evening at Sexy Roman, the new Italian gem inside the W Scottsdale, was an absolute delight. The chic ambiance, with its glowing marble bar and open-air deck, set the stage for a memorable night. The menu, designed by James Beard-nominated chef Jason Franey, was a masterclass in Italian and Mediterranean flavors. We started with the shrimp cocktail, which was fresh and perfectly chilled, followed by the crispy calamari, bursting with flavor and paired with a zesty dipping sauce. For entrees, the filet was cooked to tender perfection, while the lamb was rich and succulent, showcasing the kitchen’s skill. The spaghetti with lobster was a decadent highlight, with generous chunks of lobster in every bite, and the burrata-stuffed tortellini was a creamy, indulgent revelation. For dessert, the tiramisu, crafted tableside via their signature cart, was a dreamy finale with its espresso-soaked layers and velvety mascarpone. Our server, Taylor, was phenomenal—attentive, charming, and full of spot-on recommendations that elevated our meal. She navigated us through the menu and paired our dishes with exquisite Italian wines, making every course shine. The entire team at Sexy Roman was equally impressive, delivering seamless service with a warm, welcoming energy. The martini cart, activated by a hidden button that bathes your table in a seductive red glow, was a playful touch, and Taylor’s enthusiasm made it even more fun. Sexy Roman’s blend of bold flavors, luxurious vibes, and impeccable service makes it a must-visit. Thanks to Taylor and the stellar team, we’re already counting down to our next meal here....

We recently visited Sexy Roman at the W Scottsdale to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant replaced the previous sushi spot, so we were hopeful for a better experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment.
Upon arrival, valet informed us that parking would be validated if we were dining at Sexy Roman. Despite confirming this and having our ticket stamped by the hostess, we were still charged $10 upon exit, his explanation was “oh it drops the valet charge from $30 to $10 🤦🏻♂️ a clear misleading practice.
During dinner, our server asked if we were celebrating anything. We mentioned it was our anniversary, and he said he’d “take care of us” with a surprise when we were ready. We simply turned the light on our table to red. After doing so ourselves later, we were presented with a martini menu. Assuming it was the surprise or a complimentary gesture, we selected drinks — only to find an additional $60 charged on our bill for two martinis, one of which wasn’t even consumed.
The entire evening felt like a series of calculated, misleading tactics rather than genuine hospitality. We have no problem paying for a premium experience, but being deceived and upsold under the guise of celebration left a bad taste.
Sadly, this was our first and last visit...
