Shakes & Cones — Restaurant in Scottsdale

It was a hot-ish day and after walking around and me hobbling around with an arthritic knee; stopping for some ice cream seemed like the thing to do.

It's a walk up location that states that they have organic ice cream. They offer five daily flavors of soft serve: Chocolate, Vanilla, Twist, Strawberry, a non-dairy vegan Vanilla (made with coconut milk), and Lemon Sorbet.

My son got a vanilla cone (dipped), my wife got strawberry in a cup, and I got a peanut butter and cookie dough shake. They have some interesting shakes and to get the most flavor, I had to go with the peanut butter.

Wow! I gotta say, the organic, vegan ice cream was awesome! I'm lactose intolerant and I didn't need to take a Lactaid pill because it's vegan. And delicious. You never get both, but lo and behold, they sure figured it out. And this place was busy. I was amazed there wasn't another ice cream shoppe in this touristy area.

Kudos to Shakes & Cones for putting out a great product that's easy on the wallet. It doesn't hurt that their ice cream is...

Ice cream enthusiasts BEWARE!! We visited Shakes and Cones on Sunday evening. Everything (except the workers) is outside and it was very cold. The kids working inside were horsing around. The worst of it is that I ordered a hot chocolate and when I went to drink it, the whole drink dumped all over me. The young man who served me had set the lid on the top so it looked like it was attached, but he didn’t push it down. The entire drink of hot chocolate poured down the front of my new outfit. The young people didn’t even notice as they were so busy socializing. I had to point it out to them and all they said was, “oh sorry.” They didn’t comp our order or my drink or even help me clean up the puddle on the sidewalk. Also disappointing was that all the ice cream is soft serve. I had to walk to my car soaking wet and freezing to death. Horrible...

I wish i could give this place negative stars. The customer service is horrible. the whole time they had an attitude like they dont want to be there. All we did was ask questions and we are met with negative attitude. This individual that works there was making faces at us as they walked away, making sly remarks, and making us uncomfortable. We confronted this individual and they denied and lied to our faces. and still proceeded to make weird facial expression at us. After reading reviews, i'm not the only one who had horrible experience with the service. They should be fired.
