Finn's Fish House — Restaurant in Seaside

I’ve been here several times and I never leave reviews but today I really needed to share a few bits of my experience. Today when waiting to be greeted it was a few minutes before the hostess stopped what side work she was doing before she acknowledged us, which is fine, we got seated outside in the covered patio because my kiddo asked to go out there. Very bar vibey outside which is fine. We sat down and immediately the server came over as the host left asking what we would like to order and I told her we just need a second on the menu. She came around almost 10 minutes later. She was very kind but 10 minutes seemed like a long time with a kid. The music was a modern pop country station which was fine but then after the server left it started loudly playing a pepto bismol commercial about diarrhea…

The server came around and made my kiddo a great hot chocolate with a pretty whipped cream topping and then brought my coffee out several minutes later but was very kind to bring me two types of cream even though I only agreed to half & half (it was very sweet of her though!)

The blood orange mimosa was not great. The syrup was pretty imitation tasting but at least there were a lot of bubbles so that was nice.

Then they put on Christmas music and it played for 25 long minutes… it’s November 12th!

Then while eating we never got checked back on and I had to ask for a coffee refill when she came by with my bill after not checking on us at all during the time we were eating.

I know we were probably one of their first tables and they were getting their side work done but then when I went up to the host stand the hostess was talking about how she hadn’t had her period for over two months and how she isn’t feeling good… I know women have periods but talking about it at the front desk in front of...

Pro: good food (seafood fettuccine, salmon fish and chips). Con: customer service. As you can imagine with social distancing requirements the wait to get a table can be close to two hours on a weekend for dinner. This was the case last Saturday when we went so we opted to place a takeout order once we got there. The hostess took our order and we got our food in about 20 minutes. We walked back to our hotel to eat. We opened up the food and discovered that instead of seafood fettuccine we got grilled salmon with rice, quite a disappointment but not wanting to waste all the food we ate it. The salmon and rice wasn’t great but the salmon fish and chips we ordered were. So we went back the next day for lunch and explained what happened. We had to speak to the manager, who didn’t apologize a single time for the error and instead said that we should have came back the night before because the owners want them to confirm the error. Fortunately, I took a picture of the error so I had proof. (My recommendation for your business would be to have what is in the takeout box written on it and have someone confirm the correct items before giving to the customer) We planned to eat lunch there so I asked for the pasta free of charge and they said okay. We were also going to order the fish and chips again but the manager was so rude during the entire interaction, and didn’t ask if we wanted anything else, so we decided not to spend any more money there. To top it off, we took the food back to our hotel and found that the seafood fettuccine was missing the garlic toast it’s supposed to be served with. So they couldn’t even get the replacement...
