I love the idea behind Jilted Siren. The menu concept is a nice interesting mix for a bar and I love a good craft cocktail. I think with some tweaks this place can go from good to great! Pros: friendly and helpful bartender. Didn’t wait long ever for service. Drinks were made with speed and still care and she even brought them over to our table for us given she wasn’t slammed. Spicy chicken sandwich was super tasty with the aioli and house pickles. Captain crunch espresso martini was super tasty. The Jilted siren cocktail was great too. Feedback: Wings were served whole which makes them hard to share and eat. Break them down into flats and drumettes. Provide moist towelettes. Fish in the fish and chips was really thin and a lot of panko to the fish. Comes across more like fish sticks than what you’d expect from fish and chips. The texture of the shoestring fries was not enjoyable at all. They were totally hard and crunchy the whole way through and seemed “air dried out” versus fresh out of the fryer. Revisit the fries or if this was an off batch, the consistency. The music itself was great and gave a good vibe but the bass was pumped up so high that resonant tones made the speaker it was coming out of sound terrible and vibrate. Revisit the EQ balance or sound system to keep the vibe but avoid the “I’m driving this speaker way too hard” sound. Best of luck with the new...
Read moreFun little bar we were excited to try! The menu being based around spices intrigued us... I ordered the cauliflower miso & vindaloo fries. Friends ordered the veggies dumplings & soba noodles. All the food was very good & well balanced. The cocktails were tasty & well executed however I was disappointed at how little was served for $18. We're talking a tall glass full of pebble ice & maybe 4-6oz of actual drink. What furthered the sadness was the food we ordered being less $$ than ice drink. My partner got a custom crafted drink that he said was out of this world so we will definitely return but I would be cautious to ask about ice level in drinks before deciding on something. I took off a star for that reason only. Staff was super sweet...
Read moreIt's cozy, with eclectic decor and pretty murals. The food was the big surprise, the veggie skewers were charred to perfection, and felt healthy and delicious at the same time. The dumplings were unique in that they were served in a plate of sauce. The wrappers were thick and chewy and well cooked. Two suggestions would be to leave off the hoisin on the dumplings, and provide spoons for the broth.
I don't usually edit reviews, but upon returning here I found the quality of food had dropped, but the prices remained high. The dumpling wrappers are now not made in house; the soba noodles are a broken mess without veggies, protein and with a one...
