I had the worst experience here for my birthday, which is unfortunate. Firstly, we made reservations, and upon entering the establishment, the lady that greeted us at the door seemed confused. She walked off to “check to see if your table is cleaned,” Within that moment, I locked eyes with my partner, and we braced ourselves for the foolishness that awaited. She returned and stated that the table we requested was currently unavailable due to customers occupying it, but they were able to offer us indoor seating.
We entered, and the place was super crowded, so they had us sit in what resembles a walkway. I needed to adjust my chair every time someone walked by because there wasn’t enough room. We expressed that we weren’t happy with the seating arrangements, and instead of leaving, we’d like to wait until one of the patio tables becomes available. By this time, our server— Darius, took my first drink offer, and we sat there for several minutes, waiting the night away.
We were eventually moved to a patio table, and due to our experience thus far, we were unsure whether or not we wanted to stay or leave. Our server— Darius, had the most nonchalant and disgusting unapologetic attitude, and he’s the main reason for me sharing my experience.
His demeanor showed that he didn’t care that we were displeased with the service thus far, and after being moved to the patio table, he never came back to check on us or to see whether we were ready to place an order. It was almost 11 pm (an hour later) before we made the decision to leave because we watched Darius check on another table within proximity to us 2-3 times. It was evident that he was deliberately ignoring us. My husband got up to request assistance and asked for the bill from someone at the front, and eventually, Darius came over to take payment. By then, I was holding back tears and anger because this was supposed to be the highlight of my birthday — dinner with drinks overlooking the city. My husband asked him for his name as he took the tab, and after Darius shared his name, he snatched the bill from my husband’s hand, saying, “you know what, don’t even worry about this. I’ll cover it for you” before he walked off.
We were stunned by his blatant “I don’t give a shit” attitude, and I couldn’t believe how he ruined our experience and night. But, that was my birthday experience — one to remember!
I know this review may not even be discussed with him internally, and maybe nothing will come of it. Still, I hope I can prevent someone from wasting their time with this establishment, ESPECIALLY if you’re celebrating a special moment. Please find somewhere else, OR at least have a...
Read moreFog Room is Seattle's premier rooftop lounge experience! Located in the beautiful Charter Hotel in downtown Seattle, this classy cocktail venue overshadows 2nd avenue and offers a spectacular sunset-skyline view of Puget Sound. During my visit last night, the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring my friend and I received top notch service throughout the evening. Toni, at the front of the house, was upbeat and pleasant. She showed me to my table and ensured I was comfortable while I waited for my friend. Very warm smile (even if through a mask). She patiently explained the COVID precautions (which were not dissimilar of other similar venues). After arriving at our table, Lucas, our server, immediately welcomed me with water and offered helpful drink suggestions from the menu. I stuck with the Hartford Court Pinot Noir; however, I did try the Smoking Gun which was interesting and spicy. After taking a hard look at the menu, the Steamed Mussels in Green Chile Broth sounded unique and worthy of a try. Both my friend and I were very impressed with these and thought them to be quite spectacular--full of flavor, hint of spice, and were served with a healthy portion of thinly cut seasoned fries. I felt it was priced appropriately and was perfect for sharing. As the sun went down, the staff kindly offered to turn on heaters to keep us warm and comfortable. They periodically checked in for additional drink orders and to refill water. They were really on it! Fog Room is now my favorite spot for a trendy evening social drink. If you enjoy drinks with a view as much as I do, this is...
Read moreWe where celebrating our friends birthday tonight and it was awesome. The view was phenomenal. Our server Devin was great and attentive. It takes one person to ruin your entire experience and that is why I’m giving this review 2 stars. The stars are for the view and our waitress. 0 stars for the hostess/busser, Kris (petite brunette with long hair) We had a reservation beforehand at 6:30, we all kind of trickled in and left at 10pm. I would understand if we occupied a table and didn’t order anything, but we kept ordering drinks and food. So we occupied the table for 3 and a half hours all together. I came at 7:45 after work. At 8:15 the hostess came up to our table and told us we had 30 more minutes and had to leave due to another reservation. Our waitress told us they will accommodate and seat the reservation at another table. Upon leaving, a group of 5 or 6 guys came to our table and one of them looked at me and said “are you the group that stayed here for 5 hours?” I said “I don’t know, probably.” The guy looked at me and said “yea so we where informed by the hostess.” The hostess Kris followed to clean our table with a very bad attitude. One we were not there for 5 hours. And second, you don’t tattle on customers like that. Very awful customer service on her end. We had a great evening and it was ruined by Kris. It was embarrassing and made us all feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We spent money there to have a great time. The drink menu is very abundant, the food menu is small. But it’s more of a bar anyway so that...
