First off, I’m not normally one to leave reviews, but my first experience here was so bad that I feel the need to warn other potential customers.
Second, I’ve noticed that there have been multiple reviews of similar experiences from other customers with the manager/owner responding to some of them so clearly they are aware of the issue. Assuming we’re all facing the same staff member which seems to be the case, it seems like management has taken no meaningful action to date.
It was a hot afternoon on Saturday, 8/16 and we were walking through pike place. Gf wanted a cold drink so we decided to stop by here. Gf had been here before. I have not. We go up to the cashier area and immediately get attitude from the staff member. Okay? That’s weird but whatever. We asked for for two samples. Guava and something else. Samples come in unlabeled paper cups and we want to know which cup is which flavor so we ask if the first cup is guava and the staff member says “probably” with attitude. Is it that hard to tell us what the flavor is? At this point, I was still open to getting something so I ask for a sample of the mango and receive the biggest eye roll and she begrudgingly walks the 5 steps to get the sample. I could understand the attitude if there was a long line and if we were being extra with the samples. But there was no line and we asked for three samples which are a few steps away from the cash register. Is this employee really that lazy?! At this point, I decide to not get anything. Gf is thirsty so she gets a beer and we leave. The beer was very good.
Seeing other reviews, other people have had similar experiences with I’m assuming the same employee. If it’s a blonde woman ringing you up, bewarned. Lady, I don’t know if you crawled out the wrong side of the bed this morning or if you’re always like this, but you need to chill. Or if you hate working with the public so much, go get a...
Read moreI came here with a friend because I saw someone with one of their drinks and it looked really good. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. When I got to the counter, I asked the cashier what kinds of drinks they had and what her personal favorites were. Instead of being helpful, she just pointed at the menu with the most negative, dismissive attitude. I get that I could’ve looked at the menu more closely, but asking an employee for a recommendation shouldn’t be met with hostility.
It didn’t stop there, when I asked if she was okay (because her energy was so off), she smirked, gave a sarcastic “yeah,” and then another employee came over with the same rude attitude and mocked me by asking if I was okay before walking away. It honestly felt like I was being bullied for no reason.
To top it off, when I finally got my drink, the lid was covered in juice, which may have been a mistake, but after that interaction it felt intentional. Overall, the service was horrific and unwelcoming. I’ve never experienced something so unprofessional, and it completely ruined what should’ve been a fun stop. I truly hope they hire friendlier staff...
Read moreCame here on a whim because my friends and I saw "Moscow Mules" and thought an afternoon drink wouldn't be so bad. Came in and was confused at first because it wasn't a bar and then I found out they served ginger beer. What?! A whole store dedicated to ginger beer?! Yes please!! ^^
Well I walked up to the front and the employee who helped me was super friendly and gave me a small sample of what they have on tap. The original ginger beer was okay, the caramelized pineapple was a little better, and the guava was out of this world. The guava was sweet, then a bite came in, and then at the end it was sweet. Had to have a Moscow Mule with guava; best choice ever!! The guava turned my drink into one of those drinks where you cannot taste the alcohol so in the end you'll drink 20 and never knew what hit you. Sooooooo delicious. It was also around $8, which was more than reasonable.
I would have stayed longer but this place was packed and didn't want to take away the lovely experience with other patrons. Rachel's Ginger Beer was a great find as I adventure through Seattle and what was great was I didn't feel guilty drinking...
