Before we said good-bye to Seattle, we wanted a sweet ending to mark this fun trip. We found the perfect spot!
Inside was super cute, incorporating the design of an old soda fountain spots, but more modern and fun. It was quite busy, mainly with young kids, most of them teenage girls. We kind of felt out of place, as we are no longer teenagers…but hey, we will go anywhere for tasty food!
We were going to get desserts, but then we saw something extra special. Prosecco Float!!! They put one nice scoop of sorbet of your choice in the glass first. Then they will bring you the glass and a bottle of prosecco, and pour it to the rim right in front of you. I could have this every day…
For the real dessert, we had S’more and Brown Derby. The S’mores looked better when it comes to the way they look, but this Brown Derby does not take second place in any way. It was absolutely awesome! Both of them were really awesome, with tasty ice cream and everything else in it.
While we were there, one of the owners was there, working, and she talked to us with a friendly smile. Very nice and welcoming atmosphere. We wanted a perfect ending of our Seattle trip, and they certainly gave that to us. It was one of the best spot we visited in Seattle! We will be sure to visit again the next time we...
Read moreI've seen dozens of revieww raving about this place along with decadent photos. I can honestly say the decor of the establishment is amazing. The ice cream is not. I was disappointed when I ordered their infamous S'mores ice cream. It was average ice cream, lacking in flavor, drowning in hot fudge. There were barely any signs of Graham cracker and like one reviewer wrote the marshmallow was too rubbery. It's a bite of a mess and quite frankly over priced for the amount.
It was also a weekday afternoon and the table tops and chairs weren't wiped down. It wasn't busy and they had plenty of people on staff. There was sticky ice cream residue every where. In fact, I received a dirty spoon when the ice cream arrived and told the team member.
I'm a fan of flavorful and creative ice cream. This however totally missed the mark. But I guess it's one of the few options next to a tourist location next to Pike's...I will say the staff was nice...so maybe a 1 star?
If you're looking for amazing ice cream, take a driver or Lyft over to Salt n Straw or Franky & Jo's. It's well worth the visit and you...
Read moreIce cream was good, sundaes were creative. Service was a bit lacking, though. We told the woman who took our order about a food allergy and asked for one of the ingredients to be left off. She said that was no problem, but when the order came up, the ingredient hadn't been omitted. I politely let the woman who was making the sundaes know that we had requested that ingredient not being included and asked her if she could please remake it. She rolled her eyes and said "It has to be completely remade??" She did remake it, albeit with about half as much ice cream as the first one. Both the woman making the order and the woman who rang it up rolled their eyes and glared at us.
I totally get that it's annoying to have to remake it, but we did let them know when ordering, and if they had said it was a problem, we just wouldn't have ordered. It's tough having a kid with a severe food allergies, even when people are nice about it. It's totally possible that these two girls were just having a rough night, but it did put a damper on an otherwise...
