I was skeptical of the consistent five-star reviews because it seemed too good to be true. However, Sushi Ave 100% lived up to the reviews. Service was friendly and fast. The waitress treated us like family, answered all of our questions, and made great recommendations. We (two adults and three kids) ordered four rolls and a sampler of torch sushi, and ate family-style so that everyone could try multiple things. Everything came out quickly and was DELICIOUS. The Hawaiian roll and the torch sushi were my favorites. I was pretty full afterwards, but we decided to also share some desserts: milk pudding, mochi, cream puffs, and ice cream. I thought I'd only try a bite or two, but everything was so good, I kept going back for "just one more bite." The milk pudding was especially good -- it's warm, creamy, and mildly sweet, perfect for a cold and gloomy Seattle day. The icing on the cake is that everything is reasonably priced! I jokingly asked my husband if they're open for breakfast, because I'd love to eat there again before we head...
Read moreThe food is all very good. I especially liked the seared salmon belly. The rice is an amazing texture. The cashier/waitress also bagged up my food for me to take home. I always find this extra level of service to be nice. I look forward to coming back in a few months and giving a better review. My drink could’ve come out a bit quicker than it did. I waited for water and my tea for, maybe just under 10 minutes. My appetizer also came out after three of my Sushi courses. Maybe they don’t do coursing, but that was not communicated. It also seemed as though the staff they had was not familiar with the full menu. They were not able to make the taiyaki ice cream dessert for me because their main chef was not present, and no one was trained on how to make it. I think these are the kind of things that can be expected from a new restaurant. I look forward to coming back once again when I feel as though they’ve had adequate time to smooth out the bumps. As other people have pointed out the pricing is also quite good for...
Read moreThe 4.7 fooled me into thinking it would good. I should have read some of the more recent reviews. We online ordered the lunch special, 2 rolls for $14. (Ends up being almost $20 with the service fee and mandatory $2 tip) I should have walked out when I walked in due to the fishy smell in the room. Got the rolls home and the spicy tuna roll was sour and very fishy tasting. Basically it tastes like it had been left out overnight. ( I will update if we get sick). The spicy salmon roll was ok but we couldn't eat it after tasting the tuna. I took the package back to the restaurant with 3 pieces consumed. (Out of 16) They offered to make a new order, no thanks I'm already worried about the safety of eating here, but would not provide a refund. I would not risk eating here... Just get some grocery store sushi up the...
