This is only really a review of the arcade and not the food or the sports bar or anything. I go to arcades like this around once a month minimum and have been going here for years, but it is crazy how far behind it is to something like Round1 these days.
To start off, the game selection is definitely more sparse than a place like Round1, with the bigger issue being that they just do not really get new games at a good rate. There was apparently a grand reopening of sorts a few months ago, but it honestly feels the same as a few years ago with the game selection. It is fine for a one-off day, but it gets pretty stale if you want to regularly go.
It is definitely expensive and more expensive than ever, but that is not a D&B exclusive thing. There is an issue though where if you want to play redemption games, the amount of tickets has been lowered to pretty crazy amounts. A game with a 1000 ticket jackpot elsewhere will be 250 here, or it will be made much more difficult to win tickets. As an example, a game called Baseball Pro gives 25 tickets per run scored at Round1 and you get the jackpot if you get over 10 runs. At this D&B, it is 12 tickets per run scored and 26(!) runs needed to win the jackpot. And it is not like someone just scored a huge score to set the high score, since I know that the jackpot number stays at 10 even if you win it since that is actually a reasonable number to hit. And then there are games that will take your credits but be broken for extended periods like Dizzy Chicken.
So you get less tickets for the same cost of games, but then the selection of prizes is also so much worse and more expensive. There have been the same prizes for years now while you can see a good number of new things every month at other places. For a price comparison, a Switch is 120,000 tickets here and 48,000 tickets at Round1.
I have not really had any issues with non-redemption games, but I honestly do not play them as much.
I would have rated something like two or three stars since it is still okay as a one-off even if it is expensive, but it looks like they are now doing some variable pricing thing which kind of kills me wanting to go. They have always done these price surges where games become 25% even more expensive during things like holiday weeks, but I went in a random week in August and the prices were 25% more for seemingly no reason. They went back down again last time of was there, but it is insane that the prices now can just randomly shoot up. I know I would not go if the already expensive prices were 25% more expensive, but now you have to do something like call ahead to know prices if you want to know since the app does not tell you. That is just insane.
And I know I have been singing Round1 praises (outside of the similar price), but I would definitely go the 30 extra minutes to Towson or to the one in Woodbridge if you are further South right now. I honestly just think it is a better arcade experience...
Read moreThe remodel is Nice Looking ! The bowling lanes our first one the bumpers didn’t work ! Our server came and got our order , told me I couldn’t have lemons for my water ! (Shoulda left right here ) the food came we had 2 cheese stick stacks , && 2 orders of fries , the food was hot and okay.. we ordered a white wine asked for a sweet one they brought us the none sweet Pinot Grigio !! Then when asked about if that’s the only choice she said they out of everything else it’s not a good day! So we asked for the drink to be changed and she gave us a margarita which is fine the bartender asked what flavor we specifically said STRAWBERRY well the drink came Strawberry but with a big ass PINEAPPLE IN THE GLASS FLOATING which is fine for a normal person but we’re ALLERGIC TO PINAPPLES !!! Took it back to the bar to ask him to which the drink without any pineapple in it && boy did his attitude show ! I walked up to my server who was seated at the end of the bar to explain the situation and before I could completely finish the bar tender I’m guessing he’s the one who made it came over and said so what’s the problem! I tell him we asked for STRAWBERRY AND ITS AN PINEAPPLE N IT , I can’t make this up he said, “THATS WHY I ASKED HER WHAT FLAVOR!” The nice response he got was you was told STRAWBERRY WHO KNEW YOU WAS GOING TO PUT A BIG ASS PINEAPPLE INSIDE THE GLASS!! (WHO ARGUES A POSSIBLE HOSPITAL VISIT FOR DER GUEST) The experience continued with us bowling for two hours and with no server checking on us ! The manager Pam came by the table and we explained the attitude we got from the bar tender but she’s the only one who checked !! When we finally decided enough was enough the server was walking back to the table and I asked why yu ain’t check on us she said I’m rolling silverware for tonight I’m not checking on anyone! Time for the check she has the scanner in her hand your total $52 okay no problem we say ! Well when we get the receipt it states we gave a $8 tip !!! Let’s be clear why would I pay for terrible service!!! Welp we asked for a manager and she explained that we would have to put the tip button ourselves on the scanner in which was never in our possession!!! So yes you guessed it The SERVER TIPPED HER DAMN SELF WIT OUR MONEY!!!! Major ISSUE !!!! The manager Pam took care of it but it’s the principle!!! The guy (Chris I think ) in charge of the bowling lanes was the most respectful and only one with great customer service in this...
Read moreJust no...if you want to wait EXTRA long for your order go here. Trust the reviews on Google and Yelp. Notice the same trend with no change in service for months. Food was okay. Not good when you go there for the first time on a slow night *see pics for a young teen birthday dinner and our only a party of 7.
We waited about an 1 hr for our dinner...not kidding and the place wasn't busy at all. A senior citizen family member ordered her salad early and didn't get it until we questioned what the heck was going on. We were told by OUR waitress (after we asked someone else to find her!!) it was sitting in the kitchen waiting to be picked up. Our waitress then said she had it remade so it would be fresh but why not pick it up the first time? Before even returning with the salad she did proceed to bring over a stranger's baby from another table to our table and say "Sorry, I couldn't resist this cute baby!" We were completely shocked and annoyed at this point. I guess at least someone (the stranger's baby) was getting her attention. She saw our look and said hold on I will be right back which she did after taking her time.
There was one waitress serving two tables adjacent to us and was on it. Very attentive. I had to ask her for refill waters. I did ask this waitress (not our own mind you b/c she was no where to be seen for a loooong time) and 2 different people (a table cleaner included in this) for refills on water, naps, and where our food was. The manager did come and comp for the salad and a little of the other food which was something to make amends for the disastrous service. Honestly, the overall dining experience will be remembered as terrible on what should have been a relaxing dinner and the damage was done. This really shouldn't have happened as this was a small party of 7 and literally lots of EMPTY tables around. We explained about the salad and he said sorry. I then explained how the second meal was brought out alone without the rest of the dinners and asked why this happened. He said he was talking about the salad and didn't see/know about the rest of the dinners. So I told him. I think some waiter training is in order. I speak from experience as a former Friday's worker and would have been fired that type of service.
Honestly, just go somewhere else unless you want to spend almost $300 here and leave with a...
