So, I don't usually write reviews of places, but I felt the need to tell you about the awful service at this place. Our waiter was Jeremy P and as soon as he walked up to us he acted as if he didn't even want to be there. He took our drink order and when he came right back, less than a minute later, he asked if we were ready to order. I hadn't even had time to look at the menu and he got all huffy and puffy about it when I told him that in a very nice way. When he did come back, I asked him what the specials were and he proceeded to be very loud and irritated sounding by telling me. I asked him about the bourbon sirloin if it was a marination or an actual glaze and he got even more irritated with that and told me it was a glaze. I went ahead and ordered the steak because god forbid I inconvenience this guy even more from DOING HIS JOB!!! It took him forever to even come back around to our table and when he FINALLY came back, I had to practically wave him down because it was clear he had not intention of stopping at our table. I asked him if the salad I had ordered with the meal had egg in it. He said yes in a very irritated way and I asked him to leave the egg off please. As he walked off, my fiancee heard him say "Jesus". Even though I'm not allergic to egg, it's a legitimate question because there are people out there who are. Not that it should even matter. Anyway, he finally brings out the salad and practically slams it down on the table. I eat it and didn't even get a roll with it like I think I was supposed to. It took him forever to come back with refills on our drinks. When he finally did, he practically slammed that down too and stormed off. It takes him forever to bring the food out, but when he came back he must have heard us talking or something or perhaps he has a nicer twin brother that works there to fill in for him because instead of Mr. Hyde we got Dr. Jekyll again and he was trying to be all nice and chummy to make up for his sorry service from earlier. Telling me that the bourbon sirloin was the best thing on the menu, which it was not really even that good so that's not saying a whole lot. I think he knew his tip was slowly dwindling and tried to salvage what was left of it. Too little too late. I tipped him 10% and that was me being generous and probably way more than he should've gotten. The food was mediocre at best and this guy shouldn't even be employed there. This is just a testament to how so many restaurants in Anderson as a whole have fallen from grace. My grandmother lived in Anderson for a long time and I used to come with her there often while she was still living and at that time it was great. It's a shame to see an establishment like this go so far down hill. This guy clearly didn't want to be there, so I'm not really sure why he is even employed there. Suffice it to say, I'll never be back to Tucker's and I'm quite shocked they are even still...
Read moreMy late dinner date with my Hubby at Tucker's tonight...We decided to try something different but wanted Steak, potato and salads...We decided to try Tucker's...We have been many 10+ years ago. Well, Our experience was great in service but not so much on the food we received. We didn't know they were closing at 9pm. We were still welcomed to come in, sit & dine even though it was 8:50pm saturday night...We looked over the menu & knew we wanted Steak, mash potatoes and a fresh salad...If you are new dinning with Tucker's like we are/were you might want to choose wisely before ordering your meal. Ask your server any questions you may have beforehand about their menu options. I didn't ask about my steak and I was very disappointed. I did get to enjoy part of my meal. (Potatoes and salad). This is what we ordered. My husband requested The Ribeye steak dinner plus an additional add on salmon ( to try) with loaded mash potatoes and house salad double ranch. The loaded Mash potatoes were so flavorful and delicious! The house salad 🥗 was freshly made and delicious as well. Salmon was sweet but okay. It just had a very sweet taste. I'm not sure exactly what they seasoned it with but We didn't like it. He did eat it though. We didn't want to complain even though we were their last guests/table dining. The Ribeye was really fatty & way overcooked. He requested medium but got well done. It was a tough cut as well. The steaks were not tender cuts of meats. He said it was real fatty and not good on taste. He had two blue moons on tap with his meal & the beer was cold and delicious. I ordered the bourbon steak requested to be cooked (medium well) with loaded mash potatoes and a house salad 🥗 & had a Dr pepper soda. I loved the loaded mash potatoes and freshly made salad 🥗..The steak was overcooked and tough to cut. I didn't like it at all. I should have ordered a different steak. I'm more of a NY Strip kinda girl..But I didnt see it on the menu. I didnt realize what I was ordering. I wasn't thinking the steak would have a bourbon glaze on it.. I was truly thinking it was maybe like the bourbon street steak Applebee's offers on their menu..I didn't want to complain to our server or any other staff due to us popping in at closing time to eat. Even though the server didn't mind or the bartender/cooks. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I didn't want to spoil their night by complaining and having to make them stay longer or later than usual. We finished eating & grabbed a to go box for my steak, paid our check of $71.52. We did leave our server a $20 cash tip bc she deserved it! She was great! Service was spot on! Overall , We Love the fine-dining environment. If we do decide to revisit Tucker's restaurant again in the future I do hope our food experience is better. I will make sure I ask questions about the dishes before...
Read moreMy recent dining experience at this restaurant was a rollercoaster of highs and lows that left me with mixed feelings. The first impression was relatively positive, with a charming albeit slightly outdated decor setting the scene.
However, the cleanliness of the dining area was a major letdown. Dirty plates and glasses, old and heavily used silverware, and walls splattered with mysterious substances certainly dampened the initial appeal. The booth and surrounding areas were dusty and neglected, giving the impression of poor upkeep.
On a positive note, the crab/shrimp dip was a standout, bursting with flavor, and the Caesar salad was delightful. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for my husband's Old Fashioned, which he described as "undrinkable." The replacement was forced upon us in a rather aggressive manner, leaving a sour taste in our mouths.
The chicken fingers, ordered for my son, were shockingly hard and almost inedible, resembling more of a chicken jerky than a tender dish. Despite expressing our dissatisfaction, the management's response was dismissive, claiming the dish appeared tender, which did not align with our experience.
The lack of communication regarding bacon bits in the shrimp and grits, coupled with an undercooked steak, further added to the disappointment. The management's refusal to remove the undrinkable drink from the bill, despite our explicit dissatisfaction and refusal, left a lasting negative impression.
While our waiter exhibited friendliness and courtesy, the overall experience was marred by interactions with the management and cleanliness level. I sincerely hope the establishment takes this feedback to heart and makes improvements for a more consistent and enjoyable dining experience for...
