Big Daddy's Burgers — Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

Monday, 5/29/2023 - We decided to try Big Daddy's Burger on our way home. Address is 3490 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Restaurant is roughly like 700sq feet. When we arrived, there wasn't much people eating in there, so we got to pick the table of our choice. Upon arrival:

Pros

1. they have their own parking. Lots of parking spots.
2. I saw an old Galaga game in there, but it's turned off. :(
3. right when you walk in, the counter is to your left. You order from there. Menu is posted behind cashier. Nice and large.
4. our cashier was nice. He could have smiled a little more. But he was still professional.
5. we all liked their burgers. It was like any other burgers. Lol. It was very good.
6. they have all their condiments, plastic utensils, napkins, etc on the counter to the side. Easily accessible. I like that.
7. water tasted good. No funky or metal taste.
8. bathroom was clean.
9. they do have seating outside.

Cons

Conclusion We all liked this little spot. Not too bad. Burgers were good. Fries were good. Tables and chairs were clean. Bathroom clean. We only met the cashier. He's also cleans the tables. He was nice....

Stopped here for the first time based on the ratings and wow. All I can think is that the public at large has really bad taste or that the owner is writing the reviews.

They have a very limited menu, really just burgers and fries so you would expect they would do those very well. Not the case. Thin patty, probably frozen and thawed, really gross taste. I suspect the bacon was pre-cooked as well. My wife's cheeseburger didn't even have the cheese melted, in fact it was barely warm. By default they put thousand island dressing on the burger which is..... I don't even know what to say about that, maybe its to cover up the disgusting flavor of the meat.

The reason this is a 2 star instead of a one star review is because the staff is genuinely friendly and the fries are decent.

We're locals and usually go to Izzy's Burger Spa a few miles down the road. Do yourself a favor and follow suite, they make a MUCH...

My girlfriend and I were driving around looking for a cheap place to eat, and I'm really glad we found this place. It was right across the street from our resort, and the prices were reasonably cheap! $6.50 for a hamburger, and $7.50 for a cheeseburger, and $8.75 for a bacon cheeseburger. All together we ordered two fries (one seasoned and one regular - I have to say I liked the seasoned better, they were perfectly crispy. The portions were perfect (the fry baskets were overflowing!) and the burger was cooked just right. It's great if you want a good burger without taking out a second mortgage. I don't really understand the negative reviews. If you're hungry, this is the place to go! I'm definitely coming back here again, and would...
