The Beach Tiki Bar — Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

I've been here a couple times over the years and experiences have varied. I'll start with what is most consistent, the overall atmosphere: it's awesome. This bar is located on one of the best beaches in South Lake and while you can't exactly wander all over with your drinks it is still a great spot for hanging out in the sun and enjoying views of the lake and mountains.

Then there's the less consistent aspects: the drinks and the service. I don't come here expecting hand-crafted tiki drinks with fifteen ingredients precisely measured and served in a unique glass; it's a bar on a crowded beach and the folks working there tend to be busy. A few times when I've gone the drinks were spectacular. Full of flavor and quite strong. Unfortunately, more often than not I've gotten blended ice with a hint of strawberry or coconut. The service can also be hit or miss. There have been times when the crowd is 3 or 4 deep all around the bar and drinks are being made so fast you almost don't have to wait. Then there are times when the vibe feels slow and the two bartenders are chatting with their friends (and making them multiple drinks) who came to visit while everyone else at the bar waits with empty glasses (or waits just to get their first drink) for 10-15 minutes.

Basically, come here for the awesome beach and if you want to grab a drink this can be a good place as long as you keep your expectations in check. I'm just not sure it's always worth what...

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing outstanding service during my stay, thanks to Jack, the owner of the Tiki bar his wonderful wife, and Steve. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcomed and cared for, ensuring that our experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Jack went above and beyond to assist my husband in getting me back to our room, demonstrating true kindness and consideration. His attentiveness and willingness to help made a significant difference during our stay.

They all added to the positive atmosphere with their friendly demeanor and helpfulness, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time. They are genuinely wonderful people, and it was evident that they truly care about their guests.
