I was excited to try this bakery, but after having our sweets, unfortunately the only way I can sum it up is the pastries were overpriced for the lackluster flavor.

The quality of the croissants themselves are fantastic, they are nice and soft with a proper flakey exterior- if there’s anything I can recommend it would be to just order the plain croissants…but unfortunately I was very disappointed with the sweet versions. I appreciate the mention on their website about using higher quality ingredients, but that does not mean everything should lack flavor.

I ordered a pistachio croissant, a pumpkin croissant and a cinnamon roll. in the pistachio they were only filled with pastry cream and unfortunately nothing about it tasted like pistachio. The pumpkin croissant was also filled with cream but unfortunately it was also bland and tasted more like a vanilla custard than anything related to pumpkin spice flavors. I ordered a cinnamon roll which was the best option out of these, but it was slightly overcooked and is incredibly overpriced at $12.

The interior was nice and clean but the baristas were not very helpful when I was trying to order.

I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately they are...

This is a whole weird thing. I’ll start with the positives.

The baked goods here are the best in the island and a top contender for the valley as a whole. Majority to the staff are nice.

Negatives. The baked goods are very pricey for the valley. I feel they are worth it but still very expensive. A chocolate croissant cost over 6 dollars. A stuffed Croissant cost over 12 dollars. I bought three baked goods a matcha and a americano- it’s cost about $50x

The espresso is over extracted. If you don’t have a pallet for it you won’t notice. I wish that was the biggest issue with the coffee. Each time I’ve gone the barista on espresso has been very standoffish and borderline rude. The best way I can explain is when you know a staff member absolutely hates interacting with people but forces a very fake smile that’s about two second from exploding.

That type of interaction honestly makes the entire place feel off. It’s also seems like the staff in the front of house in on edge. Like everyone can get chewed out by their boss at any moment.

Maybe I’m wrong! At the very least the baked...

Disappointed! I reached out to this bakery to make a custom cake for my uncles 60th Birthday a week before it was needed. They confirmed this was enough time and stated we're going to get a quote together and call me back in one hour. I confirmed they had the correct contact information, but unfortunately I did not receive a callback that day (Saturday) or the next. I forgot to call Sunday before they closed as they are two hours ahead of my time zone and they are closed Monday so I followed up on Tues. I received a quote said it will be ready noon Saturday, but they would confirm with the baker and call me back the next morning. I didn't not receive a call. I was obviously started to get worried so I called every day and different time. No answer and it started to go straight to voice mail. Then my partner saw a post on instagram saying they would be closed all weekend.

This bakery is unreliable and unprofessional. All i needed was a simple call back to say you cannot fulfill the order so I can make other plans. Don't just ghost people. It's rude and now I have to give you...

Any time I'm on vacation, there's one experience I create for myself to make the vacation a success. That is to enjoy a good cup of coffee in the beauty of nature, in the quiet of morning. At SPI, I decided sunrise on the ocean would make for the perfect setting. I did my research to determine which coffee shop would be open in time to make this happen. Sunrise Bakery was the only one I could find open at 6:30. When I stopped by at 6:40, however, they didn't appear open. I was able to catch the eye of someone inside. She came to the door and let me know they were still getting caught up from Christmas and running a bit behind. Their baked goods were not quite ready to go. I told her I just wanted coffee. She said she could do that. I ordered a latte. She made me a lovely, flavorful latte in enough time for me to get in place to enjoy the sunrise that morning. Even though I insisted on getting inside when they weren't quite ready, she gave me great service and a delicious latte. I got my moment!

Wow! I love the fresh croissants! And the pastries are out of this world! And everything is baked fresh on premises! Super-clean interior with large viewing-windows that overlook the entire kitchen and baking area. Get here early in the day because they close at 2:30 pm. (Also closed on Monday.) Open 6:30 am for that morning baked-goods fix that goes great with your coffee! (Sundays open at 8:00 am.) Speaking of coffee, they also have a nice selection of coffees, teas, caffeine-free, and kid-friendly drinks. Some cozy, comfortable seating inside too — not a lot, but enough to take a break and enjoy the sweet aroma. Located at 2312 Padre Blvd right next to that watermill express bottle refill place. Parking in front and on the side(s) is easy enough. Definitely check out the Pistachio Croissant and Cheese Danish!

The pastries were absolutely delicious and deserve nothing less than 5 stars. The pistachio croissant was our favorite. I’m bummed we were only able to get one. My son and I arrived at 7:20am - we were the only customers in the shop. The pistachio croissants were still baking and I was told I couldn’t purchase them until they were out of the oven. I was told to return in about an hour. I came back at 8:40. The line was about 10 people deep. When we got to the register there was only one pistachio left. The staff genuinely apologized but nothing was offered beyond sympathy. Again, the food was delicious and I’m very happy to have this bakery on the island. I would have liked if they would have let me prepay and reserve the pastries I came for or in this circumstance thrown in a free pastry for the trouble
