Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Southaven

I wish I could give ZERO stars. My colleagues and I went there to have a few drinks and a laid back dinner. I arrived at 6, and I was seated by 6:05. That was the only great part of the experience. Most of my party arrives at 6:10, and we immediately ordered drinks. A glass of wine (which I asked for a 9 oz, but they said it didn’t come in a 9 oz, although the menu stated otherwise) not a big deal.... whatever. My friends had 3 margaritas between them. After about 15 minutes we placed orders for a couple of appetizers and 2 meals, but still no drinks (maybe the bar is backed up) about 20 minutes later food comes out still no drinks. Ordered another 2 appetizers and 10-15 later they were there but no drinks. The girl said the bar was backed up still (the restaurant was at less than half capacity sooo backed in to what exactly? —I used to bartend and an hour is excessive even for a busy night)... at this point it had been about a little more than an hour. We ask for the manager because all we want are the drinks we ordered an hour ago. Took him a bit to get there, I was upset at this point and time moves differently when you’re at that point. We told him the situation, and about the cold entrees (literally cold to the touch) He came back with only my drink and not the rest for the table. So 10 additional minutes after that they FINALLY got their margaritas. His excuse was the same as the servers about the bar getting behind. It seems to me they need a new bartender, or the manager needs to grow some awareness. Then we were at the point of paying and they charged me EXTRA for something that came with my meal. I showed this to the manager, and he took it off and put a 10% discount on my check... but no one else’s. And really, he should have done more because we were there for far longer than we wanted to be, and one of our friends had to leave before she even got her drink. (THEY STILL MADE HER PAY FOR it! WHAT?!) So she just told us to drink it IF it came. This experience was just pure trash, and an embarrassment since I chose for us to go there. I won’t make that mistake again. When I go to a restaurant, I want the things I ordered, to have a good time, pay, and leave..... not be held hostage by excessively long wait times... I would have walked out at 30 minutes if I weren’t with a party of people, maybe...

Chili's restaurant now has a restaurant inside it called ItsJust Wings. I tried to call ahead to place an order with IJW. Could not! I went to the IJW website and placed my order in the cart, chose my payment method, and the website did not provide the PayNow button. So, after trying to figure out the IJW website for 30 minutes, I decided to just go to Chili's. Calling the Chili's number it instructed me to go to tge pick up section of the store or place an order online. After arriving at the restaurant, I spoke to the ToGo cashier and stated that I had tried placing the order online with no success and that I'd need to place it in store. She stated that in order to order from It's Just Wings inside the store, it would either have to be on the website or by downloading the Doordash app. I still had the page up for the website, and she stated she couldn't do anything with my order unless it finished processing through the site. She called the manager to assist. This lady came over and...my gawd... she had an odor of mildew. I'm not saying this because I'm disappointed with the store or food. I'm just surprised no one has tried to help her with the knowledge. She was more than nice in trying to help me. Being it's only two ways to order the wings, she even tried to order my order on her cellular phone. The site didn't work for her. Now I'm into 1 hour and 15 minutes. I had to download the Doordash app in order to get the order to go through. No discount is offered. 32 minutes for the order. $56.80. The food was hot. The French fries were good. The ranch sauce was watery but adequate. The Garlic Parmesan boneless was delicious, the Lemon pepper bone in needed more seasoning and the Cajun dry seasoning that I should have gotten, the wings tasted regular no seasoning added. I didn't have to eat thise so they were acceptable. It's Just Wings is worth the price, but not the time that was involved in getting the order. Use Doordash, but know your order will sit on a shelf if you are not there in proper time to pick it up. Chili's POS system does not have the capability of placing an order in store. Their POS system only places Chili's restaurant...

Maaaan, this review is gonna hurt....

I USED to loooove Chili's for lunch! 5 years ago I'd Meet my uncle Ira there often, and we'd sit by the bar in a booth...and we always had the same waitress. I would get a bacon chicken quesadilla, fries, and a Salad or soup(usually soup or chili) for $9.99. It was a killer deal! The quesadilla would come with this spicy ranch that was out of this world and the chicken was grilled and seasoned so well

Today I got the lunch chicken bacon ranch quesadilla combo, with chips and salsa and a drink.

They cut fries out of the combo!!! Daaaamn! Like, I know.the world is hurting, but come on Chili's, really?! Annnd it was $15 for my lunch....not dinner! $15?!!!

The chicken in the quesadilla was blaaaand and mushy....you know that nasty chicken that comes in those bags, like tuna? That kind!!! It's sad when the best part was the chips and salsa. Lordy....

My last trip, a couple months ago, was the same....very mediocre experience.

**Back to today...sorry yall. I be so disappointed. The host looked like she was casting spells in her mind at the podium....like 4 real. Our waiter was ok....nothing special, but sadly we've had worse. He asked if we needed refills when both of our drinks were empty. We just got our food and were maybe a 1/3 into eating it. Of course we need drinks!! Nooooo, it's okaaay I'll just swallow my spit waiter person. You relax in the baaack....(insert Cheesey smile).

Pros:dilla was huge Con from that pro above: blaaand ass chicken.

Pro:there were parking spots.....................

Con:waitress tried sitting us at the smaaaall booths and instead of sitting us at a normal booth instead, she sat us at a 6 top....whaaat?! 6 tops are for parties of 5 to....that's right you guessed it, 6!!!!

I've had sooo many good times at this Chili's...memories galore

But not 1 good memorie in the last 5 years or more.

Should I give up America? Sigh....
