This is a great place to socialize over glasses of wine or have a meal along the Spokane River. We come here a couple of times a month for wine flights since they are often changing out their varietals. This particular trip, she had the trout cakes, and I had the pesto chicken sandwich. We shared the Mediterranean prawns. Each dish exploded with flavor, showing the kitchen consistently used quality ingredients across the board. As for the wine flight, the Riesling was quite a surprise with the expected sweetness but with an interesting hint of lemon zest that we didn't expect. Also, the Tavolo Rosso flavors were so dynamic that we had a hard time concentrating on identifying one profile before another sensation kicked in. We've had the current vintage Merlot a number of times, and it always impresses. Finally, the Malbec alone was...OK, but paired with the chicken pesto sandwich, it was very good. Summed up, we highly recommend the food or at least some different finger foods to try pairing with the wines. If you run through the flight without a good transition (or, in some cases, a good pairing), then you'll miss out on having the full...
Read moreI have been excited to try this winery for a while. The ambience, live music, wine, and the cheese and meat board were absolutely incredible; the service was not great. We had to explain to our sommelier multiple times we wanted to do a tasting before purchasing our bottle of wine as she kept trying to sell us wine and was very distracted/not informative throughout our tasting. At the end of the night our sommelier rudely told everyone the winery was closed (this was at 9:10 PM, Winery closes at 9:00 PM). Many of us simply lost track of time as we were enjoying our conversations and being together. Very disrespectfully she told us "not take advantage" of the winery. All of us left promptly and felt bad about staying over a little late but there may have been a better way to tell us the winery was closed. Overall, I think we will be back as we love local wine and the atmosphere of Maryhill; we are hopeful our service will be better next time and that our experience with our sommelier...
Read moreWe have visited your business twice now. Both times we were ignored and made to feel unwelcome! This last time, we walked up to the tasting counter, the server behind the bar, who was not helping anyone, did not smile or greet us. We had to get his attention and asked for help. He briefly answered a couple questions then went silent. We could not decide between two wines, the Server was not attentive nor did he offer to have us taste the two wines we were wondering about or explain the difference. We left! Help me understand?? If this is a retail business and the object is to make sales, why are potential customers being treated this way?? Just a thought, Hire a Hostess to stand at the desk by the front door to greet and welcome customers and direct them! And hire Servers who know how to smile and be friendly. Probably won't be back for a third visit. We went next door (Nectar) and were treated like royalty....
