I was recently released from Airway Heights Corrections Center after serving 33 months (for mostly white-collar, corporate crimes). The day I got out, my buddy Jim-Bob (real name James Robert V) picked me up. I told Jim-Bob that I was craving some good pizza. I asked Jim-Bob if there was a Chuck-E-Cheese nearby as I knew they had great pizza, plus they had some fun games to play. Jim-Bob said that he was on parole and wasn’t allowed within 500 feet of any Chuck-E-Cheese due to having a “disagreement” with the manager (Jim-Bob is also banned from Canada, Singapore and Greenland). Jim-Bob recommended a place called Versalia. He told me that in Italian, “Versalia” means “the best pizza in Spokane”. Jim-Bob is the smartest guy I know (He took two classes at community college. He flunked them both, but still…he went to college) so I believed him. When we arrived at Versalia, I was blown away. The staff were so friendly and welcoming (I’m used to grumpy corrections officers). The toilets were clean and all had toilet seats. I ordered a large Pepe Sal pizza. I literally ate the whole thing. It was the best pizza I’ve ever had! While at Airway Heights Corrections Center, we had “Pizza Night” twice a month. However, the pizza consisted of white bread with ketchup on it with a dab of cheese. It wasn’t bad, but not the best. I highly recommend Versalia. I can’t wait to go back again! I heard they have a Liberty Lake location. I look forward to going there, once my probation officer says I can travel more than 5 miles...
Read moreThe food is great but the customer service with the hostess is beyond terrible. I called 15min before I came in and specifically asked if there was a wait at all, the response was “Ummm noooo, we don’t have a wait”. There was a condescending tone as if I asked a dumb question. Failed to mention that there was an entire wait list I could’ve added myself to. When we walked in the door 15min later there were 3 outdoor patio tables. I politely asked if we could go outside, and mentioned I had called a few minutes prior and was told there wouldn’t be a wait. The hostess looked confused and told me to “hold on” walked away, came back and said that there would be a 30min wait because they had “just got all these reservations 5min ago”. I asked how long the wait would be to sit indoors, she said 15min and then we decided we would just leave and she said “I can actually seat you right now”. So from 30min, to 15min, to getting ready to walk out and then being told we’d be seated is ridiculous. We sat, ate, saw the tables were still empty and asked if we could move, they preceded to tell us the tables were reserved (EVEN THOUGH THE TABLES WERE STILL EMPTY BY THE TIME WE RECEIVED OUR FOOD). It’s sad she lack’s phone call adequate, common sense, and the ability to accommodate for the customer, we weren’t greeted or welcomed in and all we wanted was to sit and enjoy some pizza outside lol. Hopefully you guys train your host better because the lack of communication is unfair to customers who come to enjoy the ambiance of...
Read moreI'll start with my opinion. The pizza is flat out great. I'm not a huge fan of thin crust and from what i saw, all of Veraci pizzas come on the same thin crust. With that said, their dough recipe is amazing. I was instantly impressed with the taste of it. It is set off even further with their wood for oven that you get full view of when you first walk in the door. Their ingredients are also top notch.
Veraci offers whole pizzas, looked like 14 or 16 {not sure which} inch for roughly 20$ depending on toppings. They had 4 or 5 pizzas available by the slice with one special a day also available by the slice. The slices were a quater of a whole and cost roughly 5$. I was disappointed that i wasnt able to try some of the other pies on their menu without buying a whole pizza. I got to thinking later it would be nice if they offered a mix and match so you could try a variety of things.
They had a small but varied selection of beer on tap. I think it was roughly 6 different kinds on tap.
The lighting could use a little rethinking, it didn't feel particularly comfortable in the dining area. The wait staff, while friendly, wasn't very attentive. The prices were reasonably for gourmet pizza. I wish there was a way to sample all the options on their menu without buying multiple whole pizzas. Going to a place like this is a special occasion for some people.
All in all, i was pleasantly surprised with my experience. The atmosphere could use some more thought but the food...
